Slow Horses star Joanna Scanlan to headline Channel 5’s Missed Call: Here are all the updates about the show

Fans of thriller series are getting yet another gruelling storyline with Missed Call. Missed Call is an upcoming thriller series. It would show the viewers the journey of a mother whose life takes a turn after her daughter disappears.

Sarah is a single mother who sends her daughter, Katie, on a school exchange programme. However, this school exchange programme soon becomes a tragic situation when her daughter disappears after giving her a missed call. She tries to inform the authorities about the situation of her daughter; however, she does not get any fruitful results.

This leads her to take on the task of finding her daughter herself. The story of the series would focus on the challenges that Sarah faces while she searches for her daughter. The premise sounds quite promising, as we will see the very talented Joana Scanian showing her magic once again.

The reason Missed Call seems so promising is how it will depict a mother’s desperation while searching for her child. It cannot be denied that mothers can go to any extent to make sure their children are safe. Hence, to see Joanna Scanlan take on this task to play a desperate mother definitely adds to the anticipation.

In an interview, Joanna Scanlan said that right after she read the script for Missed Call, it “gripped” her. It cannot be denied that Joanna Scanlan chooses her scripts meticulously.
