CBS's S.W.A.T. is slowly proceeding toward the end of Season 8, and each new case is proving to be dangerous and high-stakes for the Twenty Squad.
The previous episode, which aired after a two-week hiatus, saw the team closing in on a drug-dealing gang and successfully rescuing two-star football players at their college.
S.W.A.T. Season 8, Episode 17 will air on CBS on April 11, 2025, and will see the team work against time to save LA's finest after they come under somebody's radar.

Release and streaming details of S.W.A.T. Season 8 Episode 17
S.W.A.T. Season 8 Episode 17, titled, 'The Enemy Within,' will air on CBS on April 11, 2025, at 10 p.m. ET/PT.
The episode can also be streamed live on Paramount+, but you will need the Paramount+ Showtime subscription to do so. If you are a Paramount+ Essential subscriber, you will have to wait until the following day to catch the latest episode of S.W.A.T. Season 8.
According to Rotten Tomatoes, the official synopsis of Season 8 Episode 17 reads as follows:
"When three of L.A.'s finest are targeted and gunned down in the street, the team enlist the help of an LAPD psychologist to stop a murderous rampage, reopening old wounds tied to the department's failed response to a school shooting."
As hinted from the synopsis, the CBS procedural will feature a high-stakes operation for its team in the upcoming episode, where they will have to protect their own.
Somebody is out there targeting LA's police, and the team would have to identify and eliminate the threat before more harm is done. The episode will also be difficult for the team, as they will work closely with an LAPD psychologist, bringing back old wounds and trauma and promising a roller coaster ride.
What happened in S.W.A.T. Season 8 Episode 16?
Episode 16 saw the team bust a drug deal and save two-star football players after they were kidnapped. While Deacon, Miko, and Gamble were providing security to a basketball team, they saw Caleb and his best friend, Ice, two college students, get kidnapped by a group of men.
Since both Caleb and Ice were star sports students who had NIL money, the team concludes that the kidnapping was because of their money. After one of the kidnappers removed his mask while exiting an ATM, the team recognized him as Nick Mays.
They eventually reach Nick Mays' property, where one of his partners dies, but the team does not find Ice and Caleb with them. The team learns that Nick and his partners are drug dealers, a part of a group from Bakersfield.
Nick reveals how they thought Ice and Caleb had cheated them and stolen their Molly. But as it turns out, it was the boy's RA who had stolen Molly, making it look like Ice and Caleb were connected to the theft.
After the truth came out, the team was able to find Ice and Caleb, rescue them, and arrest all of Nick's gang.
Elsewhere in the episode, Zoe decides to let Thomas meet his father. She remembers how Thomas' father did not want responsibility when they were young and bailed on them. But he apologized to Zoe and expressed his desire to form a relationship with Thomas.
