Listing the siblings of The Umbrella Academy along with their powers
The Umbrella Academy began as a comic book by Gerard Way and Gabriel Ba. It was later adapted into a Netflix series, which premiered on February 15, 2019. The series consists of four seasons in total, with the first three seasons consisting of ten episodes each and the fourth season consisting of six episodes.
The story of the Hargreaves siblings will come full circle in the final season as they realize that their existence is the source of every problem they continue to find themselves in. The Umbrella Academy has kept each character front and center throughout the infinite timelines, and the final season also provides a rewarding conclusion to the season.
Looking into all the sibling's powers in The Umbrella Academy season 4
1. Viktor Hargreeves:
Victor is also known as Number 7; after his birth, the child was said to have no superpowers, but as Season 1 reached its climax, it was revealed that Viktor absorbed sound. He can absorb sound waves from the outside world and transform them into energy inside his body, which can explode.
In season 4, Victor's color changes from blue to orange, indicating greater self-control. He can blow out windows but then must remain calm to prevent an eruption-like situation.
2. Luther Hargreeves:
Luther Hargreeves, also known as Number 1, was born with the power of super-strength. As the show progresses, we see that he gains an incredibly huge body after a mission goes wrong.
But his strength still isn't enough to make him the most powerful, as he is only strong, the rest of his qualities of being sensitive, empathetic, and compassionate towards others make him a weakling.
3. Diego Hargreeves:
Diego is the second adopted child. Played by David Castaneda, he has a power that includes trajectory manipulation. He is an expert knife thrower and can also move flying objects with his mind, making him a secret weapon.
4. Allison Hargreeves:
Allison has the power of manipulation. She can use her powers to make other people do anything she wants by simply using the phrase "I heard a rumor...". She is known as number 3 in the Umbrella Academy.
As powerful as she is, her powers also have consequences for the people she loves, which makes her hesitant to use them. In season 4, her powers grow much stronger, as in a scene, we get to see that Allison breaks down a door with her mind without even uttering a word.
5. Klaus Hargreeves:
Klaus, also known as Number 4, can communicate with the dead. Call it a power or a curse, Klaus is not very fond of his ability and has indulged in drugs and considerable abuse since an early age to cope with the effects of being plagued by ghosts. Throughout the series, we have seen Klaus communicate with the deceased Ben several times. In season 3 of the show, it was revealed that Klaus can also bring himself back to life.
6. Number Five:
Number 5 has the power to teleport throughout the multiverse. The character is played by Aidan Gallagher, and for him, time and space have no limits. Not only can he move from one space to another, but he can take others along.
In Season 2 of the show, Five also gained the ability to rewind time. But in Season 4, his power is downgraded, as he can only land in the Multiverse Subway, which connects the various timelines that operate in the show.
7. Ben Hargreeves:
Ben can summon monsters. Although Ben dies as a child while the Hargreeves are on a mission, he remains at Klau's side. He can possess monsters from other dimensions under his skin. Later in the series, he also possesses Klau's body.
In season 4, Ben transforms into this monster known as the Cleanse after he comes in contact with Jennifer, who has an element known as Durango in her body.
Some Honourable non-sibling mentions of The Umbrella Academy
When we talk about The Umbrella Academy characters, we mean both friends and foes. The storyline feels incomplete without the mention of these non-sibling characters.
In addition to The Umbrella Academy siblings, some characters supported the siblings in saving the world. While one adopted these children and prepared them to save the world, later becoming the villain of the story, others have been a support system, contributing almost equally to the sibling's endeavors. All the while, some have been successful in creating a cult to torture the Hargreeves siblings for their own benefit.
1. Lila Pitts:
Reginald had only adopted seven of the 43 children affected by the supernatural event. Others, like Lila, who were not adopted, had different fates. Lila was adopted by Handler, who trained Lila to become a covert agent for the Commission.
Lila has the power to mimic the powers of anyone who is in her proximity. This is perfectly depicted in the last table, when she borrows Five's power to teleport and mimics Victor's sound manipulation techniques.
2. Sir Reginald Hargreeves:
Sir Reginald is a billionaire and a demanding father who adopts the seven kids, who later go on to become the Umbrella Academy siblings. We see that Sir Reginald dies in season 1, which brings his adopted children together in a love-hate relationship. But the characters have more in store for the viewers as we realize that Reginald isn't dead as we see him standing next to a woman who looks like his wife, Abigail.
3. Dr. Gene Thibedeau:
Gene Thibedeau and his wife are the leaders and founders of an organization called the Keepers. They want to bring forward an event called the Cleanse, which they believe will allow them to restore their true timeline.
4. Dr. Jean Thibedeau:
Jean, played by Megan Mullally, and her husband are called the Keepers, and they believe that the Hargreaves siblings are living in a false timeline. The Keepers collect relics, pictures, and other things to keep as proof. Their main motive for doing so is described by the show as a way to restore the main timeline.
Season 4 of The Umbrella Academy ends the impressive streak of the Netflix series with a critical score of 61% on Rotten Tomatoes. This is by far the lowest score the series has received. IMDb gave the final episode of the series 5 stars, as fans are not satisfied with the way the series ends.
If you are a fan of The Umbrella Academy and have not seen how the fates of your favorite characters unfold in season 4, you can do so by tuning into Netflix.
