Pluribus has dropped its episode 4, and the show has become a major discussion point among the fans.

Episode 4 showcases Carol in a quest to find a solution to reverse the drug and return to normalcy. She discovers how the hive minds cannot lie. However, when she tries to speak to Zosia about the reversal, she refuses to answer such questions. This makes Carol infuse Thiopental Sodium into her blood, to make her dizzy enough to utter words without control.

Unfortunately for her, the plan failed and caused Zosia to suffer a cardiac arrest.

The catch is that before falling unconscious on the ground and before the people of the community gathered around them, Zosia was trying to utter something to Carol. Fans are trying to speculate what it could be, and here are some interesting takes on the same.

Carol decides to infuse Thiopental Sodium into Zosia's drip while she is recovering from the hand grenade explosion injury. Thiopental Sodium is used by pharmacists as general anesthesia, and the drug makes the person speak unfiltered. Carol first tests the drug on herself and records. In the tape, we can see her blabbering freely while being able to connect to her emotions, grieving for Helen.

Therefore, if Carol believes that the "real self" of these hive people is somewhere within them and if the control over their brain is lost, they might speak their heart out and not what they are allowed to by the "community". When Carol asks Zosia about the reversal, here is what Zosia utters under the drug influence,

"You... We... no..."
"Yes. Yes. Yes. You did. You pretty much did!", responds Carol.
"No. No..." says Zosia.

Now the question arises, what does she try to say? The fans have some interesting takes on this. One fan on Reddit decodes this recurrent "no" as Zosia's response to torture going on in her brain, as she is caught in a moral dilemma and speaking with millions of hive minds at the same time.

"When Carol asked an uncomfortable question under normal conditions, Pluribus would respond either cryptically, neutrally, or just kindly refuse to say. When Zosia was drugged, she repeated "no, no, no!" as if there was some internal torture going on in her brain."

There could be a possibility that Zosia might be finding it hard to connect to the Pluribus under the influence of the anesthesia. She might not be able to understand the verdict of so many people in her mind, or maybe it's her mind that triggered a cardiac arrest in her system.

Some fans also counter the opinion, stating how the usage of the "truth serum" didn't make sense, as the hive minds always speak the truth.

"I guess because it also works as an anesthetic that completely removes inhibitions, so she wouldn’t stop herself from telling her how to reverse the hive mind? Also, if they always tell the truth, why are they so complimentary towards her mediocre books? Is it because they can’t see anything in a negative light?"

Another fan pointed out how she wasn't able to answer the chance of rain after being drugged, and this shows that it made her lose connection with Pluribus.

Episode 4 of Pluribus has raised some alarming questions. Will Zosia be saved? Or would Carol find herself under another major guilt of harming someone?
