The first act of Peacemaker Season 2, Episode 5, reveals something surprising about an already established character: Sasha Bordeaux, played by actress Sol Rodríguez. We learn that there is more to Sasha than what meets the eye in the first three episodes of the second season. It turns out she might be a key player on both the Gotham and A.R.G.U.S. sides of the DCU.
We learn that Sasha is a cyborg. She is a cyborg in the comics too, but that happens much later, as Maxwell Lord is responsible for turning her into one. For now, it looks like she has a HUD in her eyes, but future Peacemaker Season 2 episodes might reveal other abilities as well. In the comics, Sasha is the head of Bruce Wayne’s personal security, hired by Lucius Fox.
Peacemaker Season 2's Sasha Bordeaux's DCU story explained:
In the DCU, Sasha is introduced as an A.R.G.U.S. agent who works under Rick Flag Sr. However, in the comics, she was a secret service agent before being recruited by Lucius Fox. Initially, she is frustrated by Bruce’s frequent disappearances, but she soon realizes the truth. Batman reluctantly trains her, and she joins him in patrolling the streets.
However, her collaboration with Batman is short-lived, as they are framed for the murder of one of Bruce’s ex-girlfriends, Vesper Fairchild. While they are exonerated, Sasha is killed in prison. Her death is faked because she is taken to work for Checkmate, a small branch of Task Force X. In one of her attempts to escape, she is stabbed and transformed into a cyborg.
Peacemaker Season 2 made some changes to Sasha’s backstory for the DCU. She works for A.R.G.U.S., and it is unclear if she has worked for Bruce Wayne. In the fifth episode, Back to the Suture, John Economos reveals that Sasha was in a plane accident, after which she was turned into a cyborg to save her life. It is possible, however, that the plane accident story could be a cover.
In some recent comics, she works for A.R.G.U.S., and the same might apply to the DCU Sol Rodríguez, the actress who plays Sasha, addressed the character’s backstory in the DCU in a ScreenRant interview published on August 20, 2025:
"Oh my God. So I never spoke about that with James, but I would like to think that she knows, and that’s part of her recent past, but I never really discussed it with James. I hope that, crossing my fingers, in the future, he writes something about that and I can bring that to life with Batman. I would love that. It would be such a dream. That’d be really cool, but I read all about it online and as much as I could, and I love that. So bada—."
Peacemaker Season 2's Sol Rodriguez addresses the latest Sasha Bordeaux revelation:
Sol Rodriguez addressed Sasha’s status as a cyborg in the DCU in the latest episode of Peacemaker Season 2. Speaking about the reveal regarding her character, Rodríguez said:
"I saw it in the comics, but I wanted to put my expectations low. Because it's a new version (of this character) and it's what James was going to write. So I didn't know what he was going to write. I was very excited that she had that in the comics, but I didn't know if it was going to be a thing in the show. Then, when I read the fifth episode, and I saw that her eye — you can see that cyborg side of her? I got so excited! To get to play a metahuman, you know, it's not an everyday thing and it's not a role that comes easy. I was very excited to be able to be a cyborg."
Then, in the same interview, she teased what we can expect from the sixth, seventh, and eighth episodes of Peacemaker Season 2:
"It's a movie made in three parts. It's big, big episodes. Big everything. Everything becomes crazy. Everyone starts to intertwine, and they're very — that's why they're not sending them to you. They're very big episodes. I hope you enjoy them once they come out."
Meet Sasha Bordeaux in all five episodes of Peacemaker Season 2, which are available to stream on HBO Max.
