Peacemaker Season 2 Episode 5 'Back to the Suture' was an exciting hour in this DC saga, which featured an important face-off and a heartwarming reunion.
The episode opened directly where Episode 4 left off, when Harcourt was left to make a difficult choice. Like Economus, she was also given an option to betray Chris. In the final moments of Episode 4, Rick Flag Sr. presented Harcourt with a choice. She would get her job back at ARGUS if she betrays Chris and helps Flag Sr. capture him.
In Peacemaker Season 2 Episode 5, Harcourt follows Economus' footsteps and proves that the 11th Street Kids are bound for life. After Economus decided to betray ARGUS and warn Chris behind their backs in Episode 4, Harcourt did the same. She sent him a coded message, which Chris deciphered, but came for their meeting anyway.
This decision had a dire consequence, with our titular hero finally coming face-to-face with Rick Flag Sr.

Peacemaker Season 2 Episode 5 recap: Chris and Rick Flag Sr. finally come face to face
Throughout Peacemaker Season 2, Chris had been contemplating and weighing his options in this reality. He finally took this moment to ask Harcourt about their relationship. However, Harcourt revealed that while she chose him over ARGUS, a relationship between them is nearly impossible.
After a disappointing end to their slow romance (for now), ARGUS sends Bordeaux to take a kill shot at our hero. However, Harcourt proves her loyalty once more and chokes Chris, so that he can be saved and captured by ARGUS. This moment directly leads to a face-off between ARGUS and Chris, where our vigilante meets Rick Flag Sr. for the first time.
While Chris expresses his regret for killing Rick Flag Jr., Flag Sr. continues to beat and interrogate him. He even switches off all the cameras, which forces Harcourt to ally with Economus. He asks the fellow agent to book Chris so that there is an official record. Flag Sr. only stops his torture when he receives this news and sets Chris free.
After Chris is gone, Flag reveals his true plan in Peacemaker Season 2 Episode 5, which is to prevent another dimensional rift. He had always anticipated that Harcourt would likely betray ARGUS, and he sent Judomaster to keep an eye on Chris.
Peacemaker Season 2 Episode 5 recap: Red St. Wild met his end
After Red St. Wild revealed his mysterious magical powers and declared Eagly as the Primal Eagle and his only target, things were not looking good for Chris' pet eagle. However, that subplot received an anticlimactic conclusion in Peacemaker Season 2, Episode 5, when Eagly revealed his powers and confirmed that he is in fact the Primal Eagle.
After Red St. Wild learned about his target's power upgrade, he begged the eagle for forgiveness, but it was too late. Eagly summoned all the other eagles with its powers and they attacked the eagle-hunter. With this, Eagly is officially saved and Red St. Wild is likely gone for good.
Peacemaker Season 2 Episode 5 recap: Chris makes a difficult choice
It seems that Chris getting his final reality check from Harcourt about their relationship was the last straw for our vigilante superhero and he decided to jump ship in Peacemaker Season 2 Episode 5.
In the final moments of the episode, Chris makes a difficult decision and chooses to move to the parallel world permanently. He not only made up with the alternate Emilia Harcourt, but his father and brother are also alive in that world, which gives him enough reason to make that choice.
After sending a goodbye text to Adebayo and Adrian, he passed through to the parallel world with Eagly and closed the door behind him, so that his friends could not follow. Chris also left the Quantum Unfolding Chamber for Adebayo as a parting gift.
However, Judomaster catches up to Chris and follows his suit after leaving his own letter to ARGUS. This suggests that the two storylines will finally intersect in the parallel world.
In the final moments of Peacemaker Season 2 Episode 5, Adebayo and Adrian finally rush to stop Chris, but it was simply too late. Adebayo finds Chris' note and the portal and learns that her friend has gotten away for good. However, when she sees Judomaster's note for ARGUS, the 11th Street kids realise that danger has followed Chris even in the parallel world.
Taking the Quantum Unfolding Chamber, Adebayo and Adrian call Harcourt and Economus, and with that, the team is officially reunited. Harcourt declares that they will use the portal to bring their friend back, setting the stage for an exciting future.
