The Pogues are returning one last time! Outer Banks Season 5 is the last season of the hit teen drama on Netflix, and it will conclude the treasure-hunt plot in a grand manner. The fans will be able to see their favorite characters back, as well as some fresh ones that will potentially cause new trouble and unexpected changes in the OBX.

There is much to be excited about as the show approaches its final chapter, with yet-to-be-completed rivalries and new twists in the narrative. You either love the Pogues or you hate the mayhem, but either way, this guide dissects who is back, who is new, and how they will change everything in Outer Banks Season 5.

Who’s back for one last ride in Outer Banks Season 5

The Pogues are the core of the Netflix series, and all of them are returning in Outer Banks Season 5. Chase Stokes comes back as John B. Routledge, the fearless leader who is in pursuit of treasure, love, and danger. Madelyn Cline returns in the role of Sarah Cameron, the character who becomes more emotional and intense this season.

The main gang rejoins the series with Madison Bailey playing Kiara, Jonathan Daviss playing Pope, and Carlacia Grant playing Cleo, making it a strong, smart, and balanced team. Austin North comes back as Topper, and Drew Starkey comes back as Rafe, adding more tension and new twists to the relationship between the Pogues and the Kooks.

Popular characters like Sofia (Fiona Palomo) are still there, with Deputy Shoupe (Cullen Moss) and Chandler Groff (J. Anthony Crane) becoming series regulars, which preconditions even greater conflict.

Outer Banks Season 5 does not only comprise the familiar faces, but there are some interesting new ones as well. Having completed the high-seas madness and survivalist finale of the fourth season, the last season introduces new characters who might radically change the course of the story.

Some of the most talked about new cast members include Anton Finch, portrayed by Jason Alan Carvell, a mysterious character rumored to be having a connection to the darker aspects of the season, possibly turning into one of the main antagonists.

Along with him are Driss, played by Josh Hooks, whose entry brings international tension, and Zac, played by Ali Lopez-Sohaili, another fresh face, whose role is still shrouded in secrecy yet is bound to cause more mayhem.

Outer Banks Season 5 revives Julia Antonelli’s Wheezie Cameron, which is a nod to the past seasons and incorporates a bit of family dynamics between Sarah and Rafe that has been hinted at since Season 3. These new entrants are going to ensure that the mystery, romance, and rivalry that form the fabric of OBX remain as unpredictable as ever.

Season 5 promises an intense and unforgettable ending

A major change awaits Outer Banks Season 5. Following the shocking events of Season 4, JJ Maybank, played by Rudy Pankow, will not join the show again as a series regular due to his character's dramatic exit. As much as the absence will be felt, JJ's presence will still echo and be a driving force in continuing the story and in the Pogues in their quest ahead.

Meanwhile, the relationships are in flux: John B and Sarah must navigate a whole new set of dangers together, and the pregnancy ups the emotional ante in all of their interactions. Characters like Rafe and Topper are supposed to have much bigger, more complicated parts.

Coming with returning favorites, new faces, and higher emotional stakes, Outer Banks Season 5 promises to be quite intense and unforgettable in its final adventure.
