One Piece is a popular manga in Japan authored and developed by Eiichiro Oda. It has been published in Weekly Shonen Jump since 1997. By July 2025, the collection of the story was up to 112 volumes. It is a story of a shipowner, Monkey D. Luffy, and his crew on their quest to find the mythical treasure on the seas.
The non-animation series is proceeding to Season 3, and production for the new season has begun in Cape Town, South Africa. The news was released on November 24, 2025. The fans gave their approval in the comments section. One of the fans said in the Manchester Evening News,
"OMG I KNEWWWWWW IT!!! XOLO is the perfect person to play Ace."
Netflix renewed the series for a third season before the premiere of Season 2. This proved that Netflix had a serious investment outlook for the future of this TV series. Season 2, which will premiere on March 10, 2026, is titled "One Piece: Into the Grand Line."

Who are the new cast?
One Piece Season 3 will introduce exciting new talents to the crew. Cole Escola has joined the show as Bon Clay. The Tony Award-winning performer from Broadway's "Oh, Mary!" will bring this fan favorite character to life. Bon Clay is described as a theatrical assassin who turns combat into art. It is visualized as a nonbinary character who begins his life as one of the villains but turns into a friend of Luffy.
Xolo Mariduena as Portgas D. Ace is also welcomed in One Piece Season 3. He is most recognized as Miguel Diaz in the show Cobra Kai and as the primary character in Blue Beetle. Ace is also referred to as Fire Fist, and the escaped commander of the Spade Pirates. He now sails as a member of the Whitebeard Pirates. Further casting announcements are expected in the coming months.
Which stars are returning?
One Piece is coming back with the fan favorite Straw Hat crew. Monkey D. Luffy will be portrayed once again by Inaki Godoy. Mackenyu returns as Zoro. Emily Rudd comes back as Nami. Jacob Romero Gibson continues as Usopp. Taz Skylar returns as Sanji. Charithra Chandran will also return as Miss Wednesday. One Piece Season 3 keeps the core team together.
The chemistry between these actors helped to make the first season a global sensation. The show now has the second mark in more than 75 countries since it premiered in 2023. It is the first English-language Netflix series to be released in the top position in Japan.
Who got promoted to regulars?
Netflix has made big moves by promoting four actors to series regulars. Mikaela Hoover, who plays Chopper, has been elevated for Season 3. Joe Manganiello as Mr. 0 also gets this upgrade. Lera Abova, playing Miss All Sunday, joins the main cast. Sendhil Ramamurthy as Nefartari Cobra completes the quartet. In the Alabasta arc, these characters are supposed to spend significantly more screen time.
It is estimated that the filming of One Piece season 3 will last until April or May 2026. The television series is aiming for a release date of 2027. Joe Tracz comes back as co-showrunner alongside Ian Stokes, replacing Matt Owens. Manga author Eiichiro Oda remains in the position of executive producer.
