When Richard's performance ended, host Terry Crews asked Heidi to share her views on her "Golden Buzzer" contestant.
"Are you kidding me right now? I mean, really, are you kidding me right now? Epic performance. Epic performance. Honestly, I thought that you could not top what you'd done last time, but you did it. Golden Buzzer winner Richard Goodall's performance and judges' reviews on America's Got Talent Semifinals
NBC aired the much-awaited semifinals for the talent show's 19th season on September 11, 2024. Among the performers was Richard Goodall, a janitor from Indiana who was also one of the Golden Buzzer winners on America's Got Talent Season 19.
Richard Goodall performed a cover of Survivor's Eye of the Tiger. Seeing Richard give another jaw-dropping musical performance, all the judges, audience, and show host Terry Crews were excited and cheering for him. More than anyone, judge Heidi Klum, who gave Richard the Golden Buzzer, seemed truly "pumped."
Heidi said that Richard's performance was "epic" and that she didn't think he could "top" his last performance. However, surprising everyone, Richard did, and she also mentioned that he "topped it." The judge also urged everyone to vote for Richard Goodall.
"It was the last song in the world I would expect you to sing. It doesn't matter because people love you. There's something ironic about the fact that you’ve chosen a real underdog song, and you are like the underdog in a way, but in a really positive way, and it was like you just got to the top of the steps. I love that," shared Simon.
Judge Sofia Vergara mentioned that Richard picked an "iconic song" and that people love him. She told Richard to "enjoy" it and that she was happy for him.
"I think I'm as pumped but not as big as the heart this guy has. You have the biggest heart in this whole competition. We feel the love and we love you," shared Howie Mandel.
After all the judges had shared their reviews, AGT host Terry Crews asked Richard how he felt after performing such an iconic song that everyone loved. He said he was "so blessed" and "ready and willing" to fight in the upcoming finals.
America's Got Talent Season 19 finale will air on NBC on September 17 and 24, 2024.
