Bravo recently released Below Deck Mediterranean Season 9 Episode 13 on Monday, August 26, 2024, on Peacock. During the latest episode, Captain Sandy Yawn of the Mustique crew was not happy with the onboard Chef Johnathan "Jono" Shillingford.

The reason behind that was multiple mistakes made by Chef Jono during the crew’s latest charter on the Below Deck Mediterranean Season 9. At first, the chef presented a potentially fatal dish for the guest, and later, there were issues with the celebratory dessert.

When Captain Sandy got to know about this, she was furious, and shared in her confessional interview,

"What the f*ck! This is unacceptable. I'm really f-cking pissed. Never in my 35 years at sea have I had a chef feed a guest something that could actually kill them."

Below Deck Mediterranean Season 9: Chef Jono’s "big screw-up"

Bravo’s Below Deck Mediterranean Season 9 recently aired their latest episode 13 on August 26, 2024. The episode, Chef Woes and Cabin Blows featured the Mustique crew on another one of their charters with new guests.

Some of the guests on board had food allergies, for which they mentioned their food preferences prior to their trip. However, due to "too many things" on Chef Jono’s mind, he made a few mistakes, one of which was "fatal."

For the current guests, the preference sheet mentioned food allergies. Confronting the Chef, Captain Sandy shared,

"One of the guests, it's on their preference sheet: Raw seafood will kill her, and it's in front of her plate. That's a big screw-up."

Despite that, Chef Jono mistakenly prepared and sent Tuna Carpaccio as the main course dish. The guest, upon receiving it, said, even though the dish looked beautiful,

"I would eat it if I could…I can’t eat raw seafood, ‘cause it could kill me. In my preference sheet, I said it about 15 times that I can’t have it."

Captain Sandy referred to this as a fireable offense and soon started looking for another chef. After realizing his mistake, Chef Jono apologized to the Captain and admitted he felt terrible and he didn’t know how he let that slip. He mentioned that he had "too many things" on his mind.

Later, Chef confessed that,

"Chefs have been fired for much smaller mistakes. It's my reputation as well. I'm really disappointed I let this happen."

The latest episode of Below Deck Mediterranean Season 9 featured another mistake by Chef Jono. It was the guests’ 25th anniversary and for that, the Chef prepared, "a cookie/ chocolate cake sandwich" which was also gluten-free, as he shared.

The guests, upon seeing the cookie cake, said,

"That’s not what I wanted. You know what? Just take it back, ‘cause I don’t even want it."

The guest then shared in the confessional that they mentioned their preferred dessert to be "soufflés, crème brûlée" on the preference sheets.
