MTV recently aired The Challenge 40: Battle of Eras Episode 7 on October 2, 2024. The latest episode, Trust In Your Era, featured two eliminations. Contestants Darrell Taylor and Tina Barta from Era 1 lost the elimination task and were eliminated. The OG players were tasked against Kyland Young and Michele Fitzgerald.
After their elimination, Darrell Taylor and Tina Barta appeared for an interview with Entertainment Weekly on October 2, 2024. During their interview, the eliminated contestants shared various details from their time on the show, including how this season has seen multiple "controversial" eliminations.
The Challenge star Tina Barta, talking about the newest players on the show, shared
"It takes so much away from all the hard work that we put in the off season (and during) the season. I just don't like it, and they need to stop. And if they're just doing it because they want attention, because they want to whine about something, then you're not going to be able to work with that many people in the future. Little whiny babies."
The Challenge star Tina Barta shared her opinion on elimination and the newest players on the show: Details explored
The recently released seventh episode of The Challenge 40 featured an elimination where players from the same Era were to be eliminated. After losing the elimination task, Tina Barta and Darrell Taylor were sent home.
Talking about their Era's performance, the duo said that their team was the "fastest" and "lightest" team. When asked about getting "one week off" for Era 1, Tina opened up and mentioned they're "grinding" them down. Shedding light on the penalty, if that would not have happened, then,
"We would've won." shared Tina.
She also admitted when she forgot the "puzzle piece" and mentioned that she was accountable for her "snafus."
"It is heartbreaking. I let my team down."
Talking about the previous elimination against Emily and the nail-hammering task, Tina shared,
"Honestly, I think a lot of these people are trying to cry foul just for attention. I mean, why else? Because it's ridiculous. And I can poke holes in every single one of these reasons why you think that it was set (up). It's just ridiculous, and I think it's just being sore losers."
She also discussed how they've worked hard throughout the season, and younger contestants who have joined recently want "attention." In her interview, she called them "little whiny babies."
In the latter part of their interview, Tina and Darrell discussed their elimination task and how Nia and Jordan performed.
