MTV aired The Challenge 40 Episode 5 on Wednesday, September 18, 2024. The fifth episode of the popular reality show featured dual eliminations of Emily Schromm and CT Tamburello. While Emily lost the elimination task against Tina Barta (Era 1), CT competed against Nehemiah Clark (Era 2), resulting in their elimination.

After Emily was sent home on the fifth episode, she appeared on fellow contestant Johnny Bananas' podcast on September 19, 2024. Since they have known each other for years, they discussed various things. Topics included Emily's recent elimination, the final challenge that she lost, fellow players Cara Maria and Laurel, etc.

Referring to "not engaging" with Laurel in any issues whatsoever, Emily shared

"So I knew something was there. I just didn't want to engage in it because we see what happens when Laurel engages with someone who engages back. It's a Cara - Laurel thing which like, victim, rescuer, perpetuator. I'm like, f*** that triangle. I'm not even going to put myself in even close to this."

Emily Schromm was eliminated from The Challenge 40 Episode 5, which featured her last elimination challenge against Era 1 player Tina Barta.

During her recent podcast appearance on her friend and former co-star Johnny Bananas' show, Emily shared many insights about The Challenge 40. While sharing her experience with her co-stars, Emily talked about how Laurel tried to make her jealous by referring to Johnny in one of the conversations.

"I already had seen what she (Laurel) was doing. So there was a point where she tried to come to me and make me jealous of you."

Emily continued,

"So she tried so hard, I remember she said stuff, I'm not even going to get into it, but I was like, 'That's just Johnny,' and then I, like, run off like a fairy, and you know, she was like expecting me to get upset or whatever it is, it's just like an interesting dynamic."

Shedding some light on the incident where Emily tried to talk to Laurel, she disagreed. She (Laurel) wanted "nothing" to do with that particular conversation with Emily, as she described the incident on the podcast,

"I asked to have a conversation with her, and she wanted nothing to do with it and she blew me off, and it was very like, 'I don't have time to talk to you,' and I was like, 'Oh, s***! It's gonna go down,' like I just know it."

In the latter part of the podcast, The Challenge 40 alum talked more about how things went down during the elimination challenge and other details.
