Love is Blind UK: Maria misses her father ahead of introducing Tom
Since Maria, a make-up artist, and her fiance Tom, a PR executive, returned to the UK, both eagerly awaited Tom’s first meeting with Maria’s family. While getting to know each other from their blind date in the pods, Maria told Tom about her father, who died during COVID-19.
Because she was quite close to her father, it is a very emotional subject for the Love is Blind UK star to discuss. She could be seen missing her father throughout the show. While the couple was out for dinner, a day before meeting Maria’s family, they discussed how Maria’s family would perceive Tom as her fiancee.
"How are you feeling about me meeting your family?" asked Tom.
Maria expressed she was "very excited" and that Tom had nothing to worry about. She explained how her family cared more about how Tom treated Maria than about who and where he was from.
"Sounds like your sister and I have got very similar views on all that stuff," Tom shared.
Maria shared that she was very proud of her heritage, religion, and culture. Tom wanted to show her family how much he loved her.
Talking about family, the Love is Blind UK star mentioned how her father would have loved Tom.
"I wouldn’t have gone for anyone he wouldn’t have loved," Maria told Tom.
Tom asked whether her father would have scared him if he were alive. Maria replied her father would have scared Tom “so much,” and both laughed.
