English Teacher Season 2 premiere date announced at FX

FX has finally set a release date for English Teacher Season 2. The Brian Jordan Alvarez-created and led sitcom will return with the sophomore season on FX on Thursday, September 25, 2025. Season 2 will air three consecutive episodes at 9 pm. On September 26, all ten episodes will be available to binge-watch on Hulu and Hulu+ Disney.

The sitcom, which premiered its first season on September 2, 2024, follows a high school teacher, Evan Marquez (Alvarez), as he navigates his personal and professional life while working in an American school.

English Teacher Season 2 will feature the returning cast, including Alvarez as the titular teacher Evan Marquez, alongside his friends Stephanie Koenig as Gwen Sanders, Sean Patton as the gym teacher Markie Hillridge, Carmen Christopher as the school counselor Rick Santana, and Enrico Collantoni as the eccentric principal Grant Moretti.

Season 2 of the comedy series will bring a new set of problems and challenges for Evan at Morrison-Hensley High School.

It's back to school for Evan Marquez in English Teacher Season 2

Morrison-Hensley High School will be back in session in English Teacher Season 2 on FX on September 25, 2025, and the following day on Hulu. Earlier, in an interview with Decider, Alvarez revealed his desire to continue with the sitcom as:

“I am completely ready to make as much of this show as is humanly possible. I’m very excited for the future.”

Season 2 will follow Evan as he returns to his American high school and finds himself amidst many new challenges and political intrigue. As expected, he will refuse to stay quiet when another controversy emerges at Morrison-Hensley High.

Discussing the possibilities for a second season, Alvarez revealed to Decider:

“The show is absolutely in present day. So anything that’s going on out there is going on in the show.”

English Teacher Season 2 will tackle real-world issues in the American high school like 'climate change, Covid, military recruitment, and student cellphone usage.' Evan will find his personal and professional lives entangled in a sophomore session.

Additionally, Jordan Firstman's Malcolm will also return for Season 2, but Evan will have difficulties keeping his relationship separate from his school life. While Malcolm is no longer working at the high school, Evan's morality and self-righteousness will continue to play a big factor in his relationship with Malcolm.
