Netflix's One Piece has finally revealed who will play the fan-favorite character of Bon Clay. As per Variety, Tony Award winner Cole Escola has joined the cast of the live-action series based on Eiichiro Oda's popular manga.
Escola will join the series for Season 3 of One Piece, which was renewed in August 2025, way before the premiere of Season 2, which is set to release on March 10, 2026. Escola is one of the major cast members who is joining the series in Season 3, which will begin filming later in 2025 in Cape Town, South Africa.

One Piece Season 3: Cole Escola cast as Bon Clay in the live-action series
One Piece premiered in 2023 and quickly became one of the top shows on Netflix, and also gathered around 500 million views. While Season 2 is slated to release in March 2026, the names of new characters joining the series in Season 3 have begun to be announced.
One of the major cast members joining Season 3 is Cole Escola, who will play the fan-favorite character Bon Clay, known for his fighting style and swan-inspired costumes. As per Variety, the character description of Bon Clay reads as:
"A master of performance and precision, Bon Clay is as dangerous as they are dazzling - a theatrical assassin who turns combat into art."
Escola's character has an intriguing storyline. As per the manga, Bon Clay, a member of Baroque Works, is one of the characters who was first introduced as a villain but gradually became a friend of Luffy and joined the team.
The multitalented Escola is mostly known for writing and acting in the play, Oh, Mary!, which earned him a Tony Award in the Best Actor in a Play category. They have also appeared in popular TV shows such as Search Party, Difficult People, Big Mouth, and At Home with Amy Sedaris.

The acclaimed live-action series revolves around a young pirate named Monkey D. Luffy, who is on his adventurous quest to find a legendary treasure known as the "one piece". After a globally successful Season 1, the series will return for a Season 2 in early 2026 and has already been renewed for a Season 3.
The live-action series stars Mexican actor Iñaki Godoy as Luffy. Along with him, Emily Rudd, Jacob Gibson, Vincent Regan, Morgan Davies, Mackenyu, Taz Skylar, Jeff Ward, and Mikaela Hoover are also crucial parts of the series. And now Cole Escola will also join the series from Season 3 as a regular with Godoy and the other actors.
Steven Maeda and Matt Owens developed the fantasy adventure series for Netflix and also executive-produced the show along with Eiichiro Oda, who created the original manga series. Other executive producers include Marty Adelstein, Chris Symes, Joe Tracz, Tim Southam, and Marc Jobst, among several others.
