Netflix's Kaos is filled with exciting and complex characters, and Riddy is one of them. She's kind and thoughtful but confused about her marriage and relationship dynamics with her husband, Orpheus.
Since the new series represents Greek mythology in a modern style, it's safe to say that Riddy is the modern Eurydice in Kaos. Throughout the episodes, she grows closer to self-discovery and explores her worth.
While Orpheus is an acclaimed musician, the wealth and luxury don't bring Riddy happiness and satisfaction. As seen in the first episode, Riddy almost breaks her marriage with Orpheus, and her tensions intensify after encountering a strange woman at the grocery store who claims that the gods are stealing human souls.
However, in the first episode, she unexpectedly dies in an accident before Riddy can settle things between her and Orpheus. Her demise leaves her husband in great pain, but little does Riddy know that she has entered the underworld, leading her to face trials in her mortal life.

Who plays Riddy in Netflix's Kaos? Exploring her fate in modern Greek Mythology
The character Riddy in Kaos is portrayed by actress Aurora Perrineau, who is known for her remarkable acting skills in several films and TV series. While Eurydice's life ends after a snake bite in the original Greek Mythology, Riddy dies after a tragic accident at the end of episode 1.
Despite leading a life full of luxury and incredible wealth, Riddy feels pressured to be perfect for her husband. As seen in Kaos, Orpheus thinks highly of his wife, leading to his high expectations of her, which often troubles her peace.
She's unable to see herself as an equal partner to Orpheus as his unrealistic idolization leaves Riddy feeling like a precious object the musician is worshipping. Orpheus is famous among his fans, and that comes with its challenges involving the couple.
However, soon after a bus hits Riddy, it causes her death, and the path to the underworld opens for her. In Kaos, the underworld is where every soul dies after dying as a mortal.
So, for Riddy, the underworld was where she discovered her true self. She confronted her past decisions and ultimately made a big decision.
What happened to Riddy in the underworld in Netflix's Kaos?
Following her death, Riddy finds herself in a big crowd of people in the underworld. This is where the souls of the mortals are filtered and converted into water, which makes the gods immortal.
So, the strange woman's idea about gods stealing souls wasn't a false statement. She knew that Riddy was facing difficulties in her marriage and would soon meet her end in the world, to enter the underworld.
Now that Riddy is in the black-and-white underworld, she hears Hades, the god of death, explaining that souls will be rewarded according to their devotion to god in the mortal world.
Interestingly, just a few moments before her death, Riddy said she "defied the gods," and now she will be rewarded for that. The introduction video given by Hades to the newly arrived souls claims that everything's going to be okay and that the sound shouldn't worry about the underworld.
The video ends with "Happy Renewal," leaving Riddy tensed more than she has ever been in her mortal life. During the tasks in the underworld, Riddy tries to explain that she said those words about the gods in anger, and didn't mean them, hoping that she doesn't face the consequences.
As her journey begins, Riddy meets another key character, Caeneus, who helps her discover self-worth and explains that she can be more than just Orpheus' wife. With time, Riddy reconciles with her past life and is able to shape her future.
She develops feelings for Caeneus and is allowed to return to the world again as a mortal and begin her new life.
Riddy decides to return to the world and begin a new life
As seen in the last two episodes of Kaos, Riddy transforms into a wise and powerful individual. Though she initially refuses to return to life, the last episode reveals her final decision, as she decides to take control of her life.
She's eager to share her experience with others and motivate them to live for themselves rather than entrust their lives to someone else. As Riddy returns to the world, she is more confident and determined to lead a happy life.
