Netflix greenlights adult animated series Living The Dream: Here’s all you need to know about the workplace comedy

If you're someone who enjoys watching animated shows, Netflix already has a plan for you: it has been confirmed that Living The Dream is the latest animated show ordered by the platform.

Netflix already has some of the most-loved animated shows like Arcane, Dragon Prince, and more. Now, it's expanding its slate of adult animation with Living The Dream, which focuses on two best friends: Des and Ray.

The story takes place in London, where Des and Ray work at a trendy, environmentally conscious food company called Ecofood. However, they don't feel content with their lives. These men are in their thirties and believe they still haven't achieved what they're capable of. Though Des and Ray are settled in London and living a normal life, they cannot let go of the thought that life hasn't turned out the way they wanted.

Living The Dream is the next adult animated series to arrive on Netflix

BAFTA-nominated personality George Gendi, known for his contributions to Cartoon Network's Apple & Onion, has now secured the adult animated series Living The Dream for Netflix. Gendi will serve as the creator of the show, ensuring that the story has everything: from humor to a meaningful narrative that viewers can enjoy.

Additionally, the characters will be brought to life by an incredible voice cast, including Ambika Mod, Julia Davis, Ellie White, Tom Stourton, and Javone Prince. The creator himself will lend his voice to one of the characters in Living The Dream.

Since Netflix has ordered the animated series, no release date has been announced yet. But it's clear that it's not coming anytime soon, at least not this year. While announcing the show, George Gendi joked:

"If living the dream is being asked for a quote for a press release to announce my new show and then at Netflix’s request, trying to make it more cheeky/funny and then doing that countless times because none of them are good enough, then I’ve made it."

Gendi's fun statement highlights that the upcoming show will definitely be sarcastic and playful. The project is reportedly structured to have eight parts, each running about 25 minutes.

Behind the scenes, the executive producers are Sam Register, Sarah Fell, and Daniel Lennard, while the writing team features Gendi alongside Phoebe Walsh, Ellie White, Joe Parnham, and Joe Markham, several of whom are established names in UK comedy writing.
