She begins to face trouble stepping out of the shadows of her parents. She keeps trying to build a life for herself in this new environment. This becomes a crucial plot point in the sequel. The shift of focus to Deborah Wayne and Whitney Gilbert in the A Different World sequel is definitely adding to anticipation for the series.

Felicia Pride, with projects such as Queen Sugar, Grey’s Anatomy, Really Love, etc., under her belt, is a proficient writer. She will helm the scriptwriting for the sequel. In an interview, Felicia Pride expressed feeling an “honor” to be part of “bringing back this iconic show.”
