Missing: Dead or Alive Season 2 brought forth another season of nail biting missing-person cases, which had the investigators working against the clock. The series revolves around the Missing Persons Unit in Columbia, South Carolina, where the officers from the Richland County Sheriff’s Department are on the trail to find people. The second season starts with the officers trying to find a missing child after they get a call from their mother.
The docuseries on Netflix is complete with interviews, wide range of cases and unexpected twists that is sure to keep the viewers on the edge of their seats.

When the Richland County Sheriff’s Department gets a call from a flustered mother about her missing 3-year-old, the team immediately springs into action. Missing: Dead or Alive Season 2 starts off with the police learning about the missing child, who was playing outside the house. But suddenly he disappeared into the forest near the house. Despite the family searching for the boy, they could not find him.
The police try to calm the mother, who at this point is having a meltdown. The police wonder if the child is just hiding in the woods and decide to look for him. They find a toy near the forest, which will make the family members also head into the woods. Seeing that this could quickly escalate, the police will call upon the Missing Persons Unit to take over.
Enter Sergeant Vicki Rains, who along with her team of investigators, immediately get to work. As Missing: Dead or Alive Season 2 progresses, the team tries to assess the risks. They knew that they must find the boy as soon as possible before it is gets dark. While Officers Rains and J.P. Smith stay back with the anxious mother, the other investigators venture into the forest. The investigator is thankfully able to spot the boy and inform Rains, bringing much relief to the family.
Morgan’s missing case brings up some unexpected questions in Missing: Dead or Alive Season 2
Missing: Dead or Alive Season 2 gets its next case after a mother, LaTanza Duncan, reported that her son, Morgan, 27, had gone missing from his apartment. Morgan was living in an apartment complex in South Carolina. He had been missing for several days at the point. His mother got suspicious when he did not call her as usual and was no longer active on social media. Rains and her team first head to the rented apartment to look for Morgan.
When the team arrives at the apartment, they are shocked to find Morgan missing but all his items including, phone and wallet intact. The neighbors speak highly of Morgan and share that he was always thoughtful. But none of them had seen him for almost a week. One neighbor shared that the last time she saw Morgan, he appeared stressed.
Missing: Dead or Alive Season 2 also brings a surprising news that Morgan was a good college student, who discontinued after learning about his schizophrenia. There were pills in the apartment, indicating that he has been off it for days now. The team learns that Morgan was in touch with an organization who help youngsters with mental illness. Rains discovers that there were many others from the same apartment who were seeking help from them.
Morgan Duncan’s disappearance unveils a more dangerous plot in play in Missing: Dead or Alive Season 2
However, things take a new turn when it is revealed that a gang dealing with drugs were harassing people at the apartment to let them sell drugs. Later, Morgan’s mother shares that her son was doing drugs as well. He had been buying drugs from a man named Altariq Cuffie aka Jersey. He was known to a notorious criminal and there was a chance he was responsible for Morgan’s disappearance. James Kelly, Morgan’s neighbor shares the theory.
The police bring some of the suspects for interrogation. A woman named Julivia Waller will speak highly about Morgan, but in past tense. Rains finds it odd. The officers discover a stolen assault rifle in Cuffie’s house.
Cuffie will reveal that Morgan, Eric Greene and Waller were at Kelly’s apartment where Morgan was asked for money he owed them. When Morgan begged for more time, Greene choked and killed him. Cuffie was asked to come take care of the dead body. They dragged his Morgan’s body to Waller’s van and she dumped him somewhere. Waller, however, continues to claim that she was not at the scene.
Even though Greene is charged with homicide and others charged with accessory to murder, it would be difficult to get them convicted if they are unable to find Morgan’s body. But Waller remains tight-lipped about it and the police decide to search on their own.
After searching for six months, the Missing: Dead or Alive Season 2 finally gives a closure about the case. Morgan’s body was found just a few miles away from the apartment. Greene was sentenced to 57 years in prison for murder. But since there was not enough evidence against Waller, she was set free.
Shandon Floyd goes missing under suspicious circumstances in Missing: Dead or Alive Season 2
In Missing: Dead or Alive Season 2, the team gets their next case about a missing woman. Shandon Floyd had gone to a hotel in Northeast Columbia from Marion County with Michael Eaddy for business. Shandon informs Eaddy that she is taking the car for shopping in the middle of the night. The next morning, she was nowhere to be found and could not be reached on phome. Eaddy immediately got in touch with the authorities
Rains and her of team of investigators get to the spot and learn about the events. They realize that the story does not add up and some other fishy plot is in play. The security footage shows that Shandon had got into the car with another man. They spent 15 minutes inside the car before driving away. When the police reach out to Shandon’s family, they learn that she was in the area to work with some clients as a hair stylist. But Eaddy had told them authorities that she was working for him and was there for business.
Shandon’s case takes an unexpected turn in Missing: Dead or Alive Season 2
The police suspect that Eaddy is hiding something and discover an advertisement for s*x workers, where Shandon is mentioned. She was in fact working as a s*x worker for Eaddy. He had booked two rooms in the hotel under his name and even placed the ads about her. Things take a new turn when Shandon’s mother tells the authorities that her daughter was a transwoman. The police are also now looking to investigate if her disappearance had anything to do with hate crime.
In Missing: Dead or Alive Season 2, the police try to find the identity of the person she was last seen with. In fact, the other footages from the hotels revels that the man had been following her for a while. They discover that there were a few felonies committed by him in the past. The police track Shandon’s phone and Eaddy’s car. Her car was used at a gas station, where the footage shows Eaddy and a white woman. It is assumed that Shandon was inside the car at the time.
The team will pick up the woman on a different charge, and Rains gets to question her about Shandon. She reveals that she and the man had met Shandon at the hotel and did drugs. It is understood that the man may have paid Eaddy. A couple of hours after midnight, the man and Shandon drove away and were under the influence of drugs. He later came back and woke the woman to drive the car.
In the car, Shandon was in the front seat, who died from overdose. Both her and the man had got severely ill due to bad drugs. While the man was able to survive, Shandon did not and succumbed to death. In fact, she died in the seat as the other woman was driving around trying to help the man. The man was reluctant to go to authorities as he would appear guilty.
The man decided to leave the car with Shandon inside, to be discovered by the authorities. The post-mortem revealed high amounts of drugs in her blood. Even though Rains and her team tried to charge the man and woman for not alerting the authorities about Shandon’s death, nothing could be done. Shandon was declared dead due to overdose, and the man and woman walked free. The season closes its curtain with the revealtion about Shandon and Morgan Duncan's case.
