Thunderbolts is set to release on May 2, 2025 and will further the next phase of the MCU. While Thunderbolts focuses heavily on the exploits of a group of opposites including the Winter Soldier, Yelena Belova, Black Widow and others, it does figure up in the larger scheme of things as a culmination, much like the first Avengers movie was a culmination of years of superhero character build ups meticulously executed by Marvel.

The various heroes and anti-heroes find their place on Thunderbolts for a yet-to-be-revealed mission. However, before you start binge-watching the upcoming Marvel show, it's imperative to go through the titles mentioned below to gain a better understanding.

Here's everything that we know.

What are the MCU shows to watch before Thunderbolts?

Keep reading to learn more.

1) Loki

The God of Mischief featured on this Disney+ show during 2021 - 2023. While the first season was able to establish Loki as a Nordic trickster who somehow got entangled in the web of the time variance bureucracy, the second season ventured out into multiverse waters. Regardless, the show did a good job of establishing the superhero world within the MCU and therefore paved the way for Thunderbolts to arrive strong.

2) Daredevil

The original run of this show on Netflix cemented Charlie Cox as the blind attorney turned vigilante Matt Murdock. Despite being a street-level story, the show revamped itself recently on Disney+ as Daredevil: Born Again and showcased Wilson Fisk's rise to prominence as the new mayor of New York. This show brings out the MCU's penchant for detailed and intriguing world-building, which can also be expected to be an integral component of the upcoming show.

3) Hawkeye

Both Kate Bishop and Clint Barton were remarkable on this show that aired on Disney+ in 2021. The incredible camaraderie between the two of them was something to watch out for as arrows kept flying, all the while raising the stakes. Barton eventually came to develop a relationship with Yelena in the film dedicated to the archer, and therein lies the connection with this show to the upcoming Thunderbolts, as Yelena is supposed to play an important role in the show.

4) Ms. Marvel

Iman Vellani's Kamala Khan brought about a different direction in the portrayal of Ms. Marvel on Disney+. Kamala Khan started as a fangirl who gradually metamorphosed into a superhero herself. The show often saw her conflicted between negotiating her Pakistani lineage with her superhero ambitions and thereafter led to wholehearted audience appreciation.
