Maxton Hall Season 2 becomes Prime Video’s no. 1 show globally

The German series, Maxton Hall Season 2, has been breaking records and reaching new heights since its premiere in November 2025 on Prime Video. With the show's release in May 2024, Maxton Hall has dethroned several popular shows on the streaming platform.

According to FlixPatrol data, Maxton Hall Season 2 is currently the no. 1 show on Prime Video globally. The fan-favorite German series follows the story of two opposites, Ruby and James, who, while organizing a donor gala for their school, grow closer. Along with the US, Maxton Hall Season 2 also ranks no. 1 in numerous countries, making it a big achievement for a non-English TV show.

Maxton Hall Season 2 ranks no. 1 on Prime Video globally

Maxton Hall Season 1 introduced us to Ruby, a driven and hardworking scholarship student, whose only ambition is to attend Oxford University. She gets entangled in the life of a wealthy heir, James, as they are both punished by their teacher and have to work together to organize the donor Gala in their school.

While working together, the duo grows closer, but a tragic twist of fate at the end of Season 1 takes a toll on their relationship. After learning about his mother's death, James begins substance abuse, which affects his relationship with Ruby. However, in Maxton Hall Season 2, James returns and tries to make amends, during which Ruby tells him that he needs to take care of his emotional health; she does not want to be the person on whom he leans whenever he is going through a hard time.

Season 2 premiered on November 7, 2025, on Prime Video and has topped charts in various countries, including the US, U.K., Spain, Germany, France, and Canada. Since the previous Sunday, Maxton Hall Season 2 has been at the top spot in Prime Video according to FlixPatrol, in various countries, including the United States.

In Season 2, Ruby and James go through numerous other challenges in their lives that further impact their relationship. While speaking with Variety, Executive Producer Ceylan Yildirim shared that the new season will build on the "longing for connection" and will focus on several other characters. She stated:

"This season explores the universal longing for connection - not only through Ruby and James but also through Lydia’s search for love with Graham Sutton and the intertwined stories of our ensemble. Some characters will face challenges that push them to their limits, revealing new facets of their personalities."

Maxton Hall Season 2 stars Harriet Herbig-Matten, Damian Hardung, Sonja Weißer, Fedja van Huêt, Runa Greiner, Eidin Jalali, Justus Riesner, and Martin Neuhaus. The Prime Video series has been a successful show since its premiere in May 2024, and has already been renewed for a third Season in June 2025.
