Matthew McConaughey teams with True Detective creator for Netflix football project

This is a good day for all the Matthew McConaughey fans out there. An untitled football TV show by Netflix is all set to come out with Matthew McConaughey starring alongside Yellowstone star Cole Hauser. This collaboration can also be said to be a True Detective reunion, as it involves the creator of the crime drama.

Nic Pizzolatto is the one who is stepping in to create this new football-related series. The details of the series are yet to be divulged by the creators. It makes us fans eager to witness what these legends would create. Matthew McConaughey was a big part of the crime drama series True Detective Season 1. Hence, for him and Nic Pizzolatto, it is indeed a thrilling reunion.

Matthew McConaughey, in an interview with Variety, speaks about his return to the field of entertainment.

“One, how much I truly enjoy performing. Two, I remembered, 'Hey, McConaughey, you’re pretty damn good at this.' And three, I remembered that acting is a vacation for me. And what I mean by vacation is that when I’m performing, it’s my singular focus. Because I’m not multitasking. I’m not compartmentalizing. I’m fully focused on finding the truth of my character."

It cannot be denied that he completely embodies the roles he plays. He also added,

"It cleared up things you’ve been thinking about for 35 years. And it makes you realize that’s kind of who you are, Matthew. Let’s admit that and shake hands. Bravo. That gave me even more trust in myself, because, you know, there was less to maybe hide about myself. I had shared it. So that’s made it easier for me to be honest as an actor.”

His screen presence and ability to steal the show make him truly a remarkable actor. His other notable works include Interstellar, Dallas Buyers Club, and many more.
