The second season of Daredevil: Born Again follows Matt Murdock as he rallies supporters to oppose Mayor Wilson Fisk and his Anti-Vigilante Task Force. Starring Charlie Cox, Vincent D'Onofrio, Jon Bernthal, and others, the season is set in the MCU and will debut on Disney+ in March 2026.
Krysten Ritter will also be joining the ensemble. Following a significant revision, the production was divided into two seasons, with showrunner Dario Scardapane at the helm.
In one of the most significant changes to the existing set of news about Marvel-related content, Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige has acknowledged that the second season of Daredevil: Born Again will set itself squarely within the context of Spider-Man: Brand New Day - one of the biggest crossovers in the timetable of the new series.
More about Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 and
Spider-Man: Brand New Day
In an interview with Discussing Film, Kevin Feige affirmed that the events of Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 will have direct narrative connections to what goes on in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. He said,
"We don't want to spoil anything, but it very much exists in the same world and it is important"
He further added that the crossover is meant to grow the grounded New York MCU environment, in which both Peter Parker and the story of Matt Murdock have their stories intersect on the theme of identity, justice, and redemption.
After the first season of the show was dedicated to the matter of Matt Murdock reappearing as the Devil of Hells Kitchen, Season 2 is allegedly going to delve into the aftermath of Echo and No Way Home. The Daredevil played by Charlie Cox will find himself in an ethical and legal quandary as an enigmatic new vigilante (possibly Spider-Man) comes to the scene and starts messing up his city.
Feige called the relationship organic, which is why he said that Matt and Peter are in the same city, burdened in a similar way, and represent two sides of the charm of heroism. This is a season that examines the events that happen when their destinies finally meet.
It is hoped that the tie-in will connect directly to Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which is a soft re-introduction of the character in the wake of the multiverse saga by Marvel. It is said that that movie will recapitulate Peter Parker (supposedly being played by Tom Holland) finding his way in the world where nobody remembers who he is, and the sense of right and wrong is being increasingly blurred between a hero and an outlaw, in Daredevil.
It is a reversion to the interconnected storytelling roots of Marvel, with the ground-level, street-level stories offered alongside the potential of crossover of the cinematic scale, which many fans have long desired ever since canceled Netflix Marvel days.
Cast of Daredevil: Born Again Season 2
The second season brings back Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock / Daredevil as well as Vincent D’Onofrio as the powerful Wilson Fisk / Kingpin. Jon Bernthal reappears as Frank Castle / The Punisher, and carries on his ambivalent relationship with Daredevil.
Deborah Ann Woll and Elden Henson will also rejoin their roles as Karen Page and Foggy Nelson which will make the series emotionally similar to the original one. New cast actors are Michael Gandolfini, Sandrine Holt, and Nikki M. James, whose characters will enlarge the lawful and moral surroundings of Hell’s Kitchen.
As the series that is directly connected with Spider-Man: Brand New Day, Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 has not only high-stakes action, but it is also going to play a key role in defining the idea of street-level storytelling in the next chapter of the MCU.
