The Peacemaker Season 2 finale aired on October 9, marking the end of the eight-episode series.
The finale episode wraps up a multitude of storylines, opens up some new ones, and even offers a flashback of one of the most talked-about incidents throughout the season, all the while holding on to its tragic and heartfelt humor.
The second season of Peacemaker mainly revolved around Chris' Quantum Unfolding Chamber, his feelings of guilt and shame, and his use of the QUC as an escape outlet.
However, in the final few episodes, we find Chris dealing with his all-consuming guilt and shame while his QUC is being used by Flag, Brainiac, and Lex Luthor, setting up Man of Tomorrow for DCU.
However, there was an even more interesting setup being considered for this finale episode that did not come to fruition.

James Gunn reveals a special cameo that didn't take place in the Peacemaker Season 2 finale

James Gunn recently held a press conference after the release of "Full Nelson", the Peacemaker Season 2 finale, and revealed an interesting Marvel and DCU crossover that was being considered.
The Peacemaker Season 2 finale episode features Flag assembling a team of A.R.G.U.S. agents, including Harcourt and Bordeaux, to explore the QUC and find a universe where he can build a "prison" to hold metahumans. Does that sound familiar to Luther's plans? It should, because he is the one behind Rick Flag and Brainiac coming together for this mission.
As the agents look through the different universes in search of a perfect universe where the metahumans can survive, they end up facing otherworldly creatures, from zombies to little flesh-eating monsters.
James Gunn revealed in the press conference that he was hoping that one of these universes would open to Ryan Reynolds' Deadpool in the room. He even went on to add that he had discussed the idea with Reynolds, but since such a crossover would involve too many hoops, the idea was shut down. He did end by saying that Reynolds would've definitely done it, given the chance.
"Yeah, I wanted them to open the door and see Deadpool in a room. And I talked to Ryan Reynolds about it, but I think we would've had to go through some pretty big hoops to do that! He wanted to do it."
Considering Reynolds' Deadpool is a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and has recently also been established as a part of the Marvel multiverse, the hoops would have been really big to make a DCU and MCU crossover possible in the Peacemaker Season 2 finale.
The cheeky Spider-Man nod with both the Vigilantes pointing at each other is the most we get when it comes to a Marvel-DCU crossover for now. However fun it would've been to witness Deadpool's crass humor paired with Peacemaker and the 11th Street Kids, a monumental crossover such as this is not in our cards just yet.
