Wonder Man is the forthcoming superhero miniseries, slated to release on Disney+ on January 27, 2026.

It's created by Destin Daniel Cretton and Andrew Guest and is an adaptation of Marvel's namesake comic book character. The series will have eight episodes in total. Here's the official synopsis as per IMDb:

"Hollywood actor Simon Williams is thrust into the world of superheroes as he gets powers of his own, and becomes the new superhero Wonder Man."

The viewers got a glimpse of the costume in the teaser video. Let's explore if the character's costume is accurate as per the source material.

A new clip from Wonder Man has dropped on the internet, and it provides a glimpse into the superhero's costume. This superhero suit is worn by the protagonist, Simon Williams.

In a recent clip, we finally see the costume that's designed by Joy Cretton. We see Yahya Abdul-Mateen II standing in a dark costume with red stripes. It's possibly for the in-universe Wonder Man movie that Simon is auditioning for. The costume is accurate as per the comic books that describe it similarly.

We are hoping that this costume is used throughout the show as the main attire as well. It would be interesting to see how the superhero will look with the other lot of Avengers.

The series is about a young actor trying to get a role in a superhero remake. Ben Kingsley reprises his character of Trevor Slattery from Iron Man 3. He is also trying his best to land that role. The cast members of the series include,

  • Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Simon Williams aka Wonder Man
  • Ben Kingsley as Trevor Slattery
  • Arian Moayed as P. Cleary
  • Zlatko Burić as Von Kovak
  • X Mayo
  • Olivia Thirlby
  • Byron Bowers as DeMarr Davis aka Doorman

The executive producers include Kevin Feige, Stephen Broussard, Jonathan Schwartz, Louis D'Esposito, Brad Winderbaum, Destin Daniel Cretton and Andrew Guest.

At the 2025 New York Comic Con, Yahya spoke about the show. He said,

"I think the coolest thing to me is that it doesn’t feel like it’s about superheroes. To me, it feels like it’s about ambition, friendship, and dreams. I think just the idea of Simon being a guy who has something, who feels like he has something to offer. He feels like he’s in this really big world with a really big talent that nobody knows about, and I think that’s the very relatable thing is being ambitious and going after your dreams."

He added,

"We get to tell that story, do it in a clever and fun way with some attitude, and hide it in this infrastructure, the world of Marvel. So, it’s really cool to be a part of something like that."

Wonder Man starts streaming on Disney+ from January 27, 2026. It will be a part of Phase Six of the MCU, and it will be under the banner of Marvel Spotlight.
