Netflix announces Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson was the most streamed sporting event ever

The live event reached the No. 1 chart in the US and 78 other countries, including Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Germany, India, Italy, Mexico, and South Africa on Netflix.

The platform announced that Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson reached a peak of 65 million concurrent streams. However, this number increased with an estimated average minute audience (AMA) of 108 million live global viewers.

Sixty million households streamed the fight worldwide, while 38 million concurrent streams were credited to the US alone. This makes Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson the most streamed sporting live event ever.

The co-main event, Katie Taylor vs. Amanda Serrano, also became the most-watched women’s sporting event ever. With an AMA of 47 million in the US, the event recorded 74 million streams globally.

Tyson showed his brilliance as a champion throughout the fight, while Paul landed clean shots on his opponent. The latter had an edge with the judges and was declared the winner by a unanimous decision.

The Taylor-Serrano fight was a 10-round rematch for the super lightweight world championship title. While Serrano landed punches, Taylor initially played on the defense.

After Serrano was left with a cut on her eye, Taylor defended her title and was declared the winner with a score of 95-94 in her favor.
