In May 2018, Cobra Kai made its YouTube Red debut. Then in April 2019, it launched its second season. Netflix acquired the series in June 2020. This was done after YouTube ceased producing its own scripted series.
As per the main plot, Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka) is rebuilding the Cobra Kai dojo. Due to this, a rekindled rivalry has arisen with Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio). With this, the series continues the plot of The Karate Kid movies.

Although there will not be a Cobra Kai season 7, its sixth and final season has a total of three parts.
The first part of the sixth season was released on Netflix on July 18, 2024, and had five episodes. The second part was released on November 15, 2024. The final one is set to come out on February 13, 2025.

Johnny also confronts personal issues as he plans for his growing family. He begins working at LaRusso's auto dealership to make a livelihood, but he struggles with his new duties. Meanwhile, Miguel Diaz is confused about his future after being postponed from Stanford.
In part 2, the tournament heats up with a clash between competing teams. Johnny and Daniel attempt to moderate the situation, but the turmoil spirals out of control. Johnny also has a stressful time with Kreese as he attempts to keep him safe from Terry Silver.
The season concluded on a somber note when Kwon is inadvertently murdered during a battle. This awful incident causes everyone to reconsider the consequences of their aggressive behavior. Many mysteries remained unsolved throughout the season, leaving viewers eager to find out what will happen next.
