In a shocking turn of events, Brett Hamby and Mark Romaine got eliminated from The Amazing Race Season 37 this week. Fans were devastated as they loved seeing the Las Vegas performers on their screens every week.

Even though they had earned a name for themselves as a strong team in this competition, it all boiled down to luck on the day they exited. Through a chain reaction that was set during their France leg, they ultimately ended up landing in the last position.

This was The Amazing Race's 10th leg, and it was tough on them as they were having a difficult time understanding basic instructions while going through Strasbourg. They started off to the Palace of Europe but immediately got lost.

Talking about their experience with Goldderby, Mark revealed that the city has two addresses on the parallel sides of the city with different zip codes. The American couple just happened to choose the wrong one, which cost them time.

After this, their entire race fell into pieces, starting with the water joust. Mark jumped in knowing full well that Brett was stronger in the water out of them was. Reminiscing about this mistake, he noted,

"I stress-panicked and chose myself to do [the Roadblock] even though I have no center of gravity, I hate the water, and it should have been [Brett]. He's a little meatball. This would have been the ticket! That's part of the race. You have to evaluate your circumstances under stress. I was stressed and took control of the situation, when clearly the better answer was Brett."

The water joust was set up in a way that each team would wait for the next one to arrive and compete against them. This allowed Mark and Brett to improve their position on The Amazing Race.

However, the wrong decision they took to send Mark into the water caused a snowball effect that cost them victory in the following rounds as well, and ended up with them getting eliminated.

Sharing his opinions on the same, Brett expressed,

"He has to just do it for himself sometimes. In that moment, I should have [interjected]. If we had thought about it, we would have chosen me. But if you watch the episode, whoever lost their first joust won their second one because they learned. We were at a disadvantage anyway. Even though I would have been a better option, it could have gone either way."

During the cheese challenge on The Amazing Race, Mark and Brett were able to perform a bit better. However, the stork nest building challenge again tested their patience as they watched the teams pass them by while they were not able to finish the round.

Still making it out, the ultimate blow came when they lost their path once again, trying to follow Alyssa and Josiah and reaching their destination last.

The Amazing Race Season 37 airs weekly on CBS at 9:30 PM Eastern Time on Wednesdays. Later, the episodes can be streamed online via a Paramount Plus subscription.
