Grey's Anatomy Season 22 Episode 6 recap

Episode 6 opens with Jo feeling uneasy. Her shortness of breath escalated from a mild concern to a full crisis as Winston's EKG confirmed that she had peripartum cardiomyopathy. With twins on the way, the diagnosis was of serious concern.

When the medicines didn't work, they rushed Jo for surgery. When the complications increased, Winston had no choice but to perform an emergency C-section. The screen faded to black as a nervous Winston made the incision, leaving the fans in a cliffhanger. Will Jo's twins survive? Will Jo be fine after the medical procedure? The answers will only be out in January 2026.

Richard's friction with Bailey was quite visible throughout the episode. However, a quiet confession changed everything. Richard revealed he has cancer. No details. No long explanation. Just a sentence that reshaped the entire tone of the episode. Bailey was left frozen, and the weight of the moment will echo through the remaining season.

Romance took its own complicated turn. Owen and Teddy finally spoke at the end of the episode, after an awkward incident. However, Nora's confession at the end hints at a rift between her and Teddy.

Simone and Wes help a young autistic person in the episode. Simone was happy to see a softer side of Wes, and she appreciated him for the work. But when Wes asked her out, she declined.

Benson Kwan and Dr. Mohanty delivered the episode's boldest spark, stopping an elevator between the floors for a kiss. Episode 6 left nearly everyone shaken, medically, emotionally, or romantically.
