Genie, Make a Wish isn't just trending because of Bae Suzy and Kim Woo-bin's reunion, but also for featuring Song Hye-Kyo's first cameo in a K-drama. She appears as Jinniya, a female Genie who also happens to be Iblis's ex-girlfriend.

She's first mentioned in episode 7, when Ka-young asks if there a female genies and if Iblis ever had a relationship with one. While Iblis doesn't reveal much about her in that episode, he asks Irem to find where Jinniya is currently staying.

Then, in episode 8 of Genie, Make a Wish, Iblis takes Ka-young to Old Dubai, where he asks her to rub a lamp. As soon as she rubs it, a charming woman dressed like Disney Princess Jasmine appears. Turns out, it's none other than Jinniya.

When Ka-young sees Jinniya, she blurts out, "Song Hye-kyo! Is that you?", and the cameo becomes even more playful when Jinniya replies:

"Is this a famous face? You rubbed my jar so vigorously that I chose a face I liked from your region on Netflix."

Jinniya then notices Iblis, and her face clearly explains that she's disappointed to see him after more than a hundred years. She tells Genie to return her gifts, but it turns out Iblis didn't keep them saved. Ka-young isn't thrilled to see the exes talk about the past and leaves them alone to have a conversation.

Jinniya takes Genie inside her lamp, where he asks her about Shadi and the unbreakable thread. Jinniya reveals that Shadi had a son who is presumed dead and used to make threads. Genie starts connecting the dots, while Jinniya proves she knows everything, including those 20 years removed from Iblis' memories.

Interestingly, this isn't the only time Song Hye-kyo appears as Jinniya in Genie, Make a Wish. She reappears in episode 10 when Ka-young seems to be in danger. Jinniya takes her inside the lamp and explains what happened in the past.

Ka-young asks Jinniya to share everything she remembers, and the female Genie says that a man named Muttalib killed her in a past life. Following the tragedy, Iblis caused destruction in the city as he lost his loved one.

Before leaving Jinniya's lamp, Ka-young asks if Genie ever called her "Habibti". Her question irritates Jinniya, proving that Genie only called Ka-young by this name. This way, Song Hye-kyo's cameo concluded in Genie, Make a Wish.
