FBI Season 8 has already put more focus on Julia Aidén Martinez's Eva Ramos than Scola's any other partners

FBI Season 8 shakes things up in a big way. There is a new face at the heart of the action: Special Agent Eva Ramos.

Juliana Aidén Martinez steps into the role, teaming up with Stuart Scola (John Boyd) after a string of Scola’s partners have come and gone. The most recent loss? Dani Rhodes (Emily Alabi) died right out of the gate in a gut-punch of a season premiere.

Martinez isn’t new to Dick Wolf’s TV world, but this time, she is a regular. Her character, Eva, comes in with some serious experience: she has worked as a prosecutor and handled violent crime and narcotics cases as an FBI agent. But it’s not just her résumé that stands out. FBI Season 8 really leans into her arrival, spending time on how she fits in with the rest of the team, especially as she and Scola start to build a new partnership.

If you have caught the early buzz or read the episode summaries, you will know the writers are putting a lot of energy into Eva’s story. She is smart, she knows her stuff in the field, and you can tell the showrunners want her to stick around, not just fade away like Scola’s previous partners.

FBI Season 8 kicked off on CBS on Monday, October 13, 2025. As of October 28, three episodes have aired: Takeover (October 13), Captured (October 20), and Boy Scout (October 27). That last one introduces us to Eva Ramos, and it already feels like she is going to leave a mark.

FBI Season 8 has put Eva Ramos front and center. Juliana Aidén Martinez plays her, and she is a standout: sharp, layered, and completely different from any of Scola’s old partners. Eva doesn’t just show up with a flashy résumé; she brings a whole new energy to the team dynamic.

Martinez herself calls Eva “extremely clever.” She has a quick wit, and she doesn’t just react; she is always thinking three steps ahead. That’s what years of handling tough legal cases have done for her. Martinez told Phelps County Focus:

“I think Eva is someone that is extremely clever. She’s witty. She moves through the world with a prosecutorial mind. So she’s just someone that’s just a few steps ahead of whatever room she’s in because she’s had to be when she was working on these complicated legal cases. And so I think that’s going to be a very interesting dynamic with Scola.”

So, you are not just watching another action-driven agent. Eva is the one who is strategizing, seeing angles other people miss, and backing it up with real legal know-how. It is a big shift from Scola’s previous partners, who mostly leaned on instincts and teamwork. With Eva, you get brains and grit, all rolled into one.

She jumps in right away too. FBI Season 8, Episode 3: Boy Scout throws her straight into a tough murder case with Scola. It is not about who is the toughest or who can chase down a suspect fastest. Instead, you see two people who actually respect each other’s strengths, and that respect shapes how they work together. Eva’s logic and Scola’s gut instincts are a good match; they fill in each other’s gaps.

What really makes Eva interesting, though, is her past. There is this group called Forefront, secretive, probably dangerous, and her ex-partner is mixed up with them. That’s not just background noise. It adds a whole extra layer of tension, pulling Eva into situations where her personal life and her job collide.

She ends up facing threats that go far beyond the normal FBI grind. As the stakes rise, it becomes clear that her loyalty and skills will be pushed to their absolute limit, testing everything she believes in and how far she’s willing to go.

In the end, Eva Ramos isn’t just another face in the office. She brings something fresh and complicated to the team, and the show is better for it.

What is FBI Season 8 about?

FBI Season 8 kicks off on a heavy note. Special Agent Dani Rhodes dies, driving home just how risky life is for the New York team. Her death hangs over everyone, and Scola once again finds himself without a partner. This isn’t new for him. Tiffany Kane left, Syd Ortiz barely stuck around, and now, once again, he has to start over.

The season doesn’t waste any time picking up old threads. From the very first episode, it dives straight into the lingering Season 7 cliffhanger involving possible moles inside the FBI. Things at the top are in disarray as well, with Agent Isobel Castille’s future uncertain following her collapse.

FBI Season 8 sticks to its usual rhythm of one major case per episode, but this time there is a lot more happening beneath the surface. The team keeps trying to solve crimes while still dealing with the emotional fallout from everything that has happened. People are still raw from recent losses, and the entire organization feels unstable. There is an underlying tension that never really lets up.

By Episode 3, viewers meet Eva Ramos, a new Special Agent who brings a different kind of energy to the team. She is immediately thrown into a tough murder case that quickly becomes entangled with a DEA investigation. The episode provides a strong look at how both Eva and Scola operate under pressure, revealing how their contrasting skills complement each other.

There are also hints that the chaos at the Joint Operations Center is far from over. New faces are arriving, alliances are shifting, and team morale continues to fluctuate as everyone tries to regain their footing.

FBI Season 8 uses both the introduction of new characters and the lingering pain of old heartaches to pull viewers closer to the team. It feels more personal than ever, balancing the procedural structure with deeper emotional stakes that make each episode hit harder.
