Mickey Haller's new driver, Eddie Rojas, tragically dies in a car accident after his introduction in The Lincoln Lawyer Season 3. Fans expected Eddie to be a new character in the show, but he died after just five episodes.

After Izzy resigned as Mickey's driver to open a dance studio in the finale of The Lincoln Lawyer Season 2, a new character was expected to play the role. He finally got a new driver Eddie Rojas, Hayley's old babysitter.

Rojas was accused of carjacking a man’s Lamborghini. We see Eddie as Mickey's driver before the tragic accident takes his life. Eddie dies when a truck intentionally flips over their car. While Mickey crawls out of the backseat window and survives the crash, Eddie passes away.

Mickey is brutally injured in the accident. But Eddie's death and their tragic car accident do not only leave physical scars on Mickey. This incident provokes his guilty conscience, and he feels responsible for his driver's death.

Here is everything we know about Eddie's death in The Lincoln Lawyer Season 3.

Eddie's death heightens Mickey's guilty conscience in The Lincoln Lawyer

We see Mickey Haller questioning his line of work and the gambles he takes to win his cases, which often lead to the death of his loved ones. While Mickey is having flashbacks with Maggie in The Lincoln Lawyer Season 3, he also feels responsible for Glory Day's death, and Eddie's death heightens his guilt.

Eddie's death also makes Mickey question his risky methods and whether they are worthy to put everyone around him at risk.

Does Eddie die in The Lincoln Lawyer books?

The Lincoln Lawyer is based on Michael Connelly's fifth book, The Gods of Guilt. While the show was faithful to the books regarding Mickey's previous driver, Izzy Letts, it seems to have tweaked Eddie's story.

While Mickey did have a chauffeur who was simply called 'Rojas' (and was also a former client), his story did not mimic that of Eddie in the show. Eddie's story closely resembles the character of Earl Briggs, Mickey's driver in The Gods of Guilt book.

Like Eddie, Earl too dies tragically when their car is run over. While Mickey survives the accident, Earl passes away. Earl's death leaves Mickey guilty and questioning his methods of winning, which puts everyone on the line.

Will Eddie Return In The Lincoln Lawyer Season 4?

While there is no official announcement of The Lincoln Lawyer Season 4, the show is expected to return after the shocking finale. Since Eddie is dead, the actor will not appear alive in The Lincoln Lawyer Season 4 but can appear in flashbacks and visions.

We see Mickey driving his car after Eddie's death; he often sees ghosts of people dead around him in the backseat. Since Glory Days appeared in a few scenes, Eddie might also make guest appearances in the next season.

The Lincoln Lawyer Season 3 is available to stream on Netflix.
