The first season ended with a setup for Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 as Fisk successfully banned masked vigilantes. Moreover, season 2 has fans hyped as it is marketed as the season of reunions. Jessica Jones's return was confirmed early this year, but recently, Royce Johnson also confirmed that he is back as Brett Mahoney from the original Netflix series.
While fans are hyped and excited for Born Again Season 2, it does not have a release date yet. But now, Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 has a 2026 release window: March.
What is Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 release window on Disney+?
As mentioned earlier, season 2 is going to premiere in March 2026, but the release date is unclear. Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 initially had a March 4, 2026, premiere date. But Disney took off that date, and we don't have the alternative release date yet. But the March 2026 release window has some hoping that the release date will not be far off from the initial date.
What do we know about Born Again Season 2?
Mayor Wilson Fisk has let his anti-vigilante task force run rampant across NYC as he has outlawed masked heroes. However, the closing minutes of the season 1 finale show The Man Without Fear forming an army to fight Fisk's regime in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2. Many fans noticed the lack of Matt's fellow heroes, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist.
Entertainment Weekly asked showrunner Dario Scardapane about the other Netflix Marvel heroes. To this, Scardapane responded:
"Without giving too much away...when you're working in what I would call the Hell's Kitchen corner of the MCU, those iconic characters are always in your mind. The thing is that — and this is kind of hard, I'm trying to thread a needle here — you want to bring in people and relationships and past figures in Matt's life because they help the story, particularly in terms of a story where Fisk has taken over the city. And there is a resistance and a rebellion, so to speak, rising. So there's going to be people, vigilantes, superheroes that are involved in that. There has to be because this is happening to their city. That said, you also want to create a completely organic story for that. So who comes in and why has to be beyond anything earned. So the easiest answer to your question is, yes, those characters that you just listed off are absolutely in my head and everybody's head as we're working. How that manifests itself is both really tricky writing-wise and a pretty closely guarded secret at this point. So I'm being intentionally cagey, but I'm also saying, 'Hell yeah!' in terms of it's something we're thinking about.""
Just weeks after this interview, Disney confirmed Krysten Ritter's Jessica Jones at the upfront presentation in May. Sharing the stage with Charlie Cox, Ritter said this about her confirmation in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2:
“It’s so great to be back, returning to Jessica after three seasons and ‘The Defenders’ and now joining the MCU. I’m so excited to bring back this iconic character, and without giving too much away, there is much more in store for Jessica Jones. This is going to be an incredible season!”
Binge the entirety of Daredevil: Born Again Season 1 as we wait for the second season.
