Prime Video’s newest offering, Cruel Intentions is an adaptation of the 1999 film of the same name. The show boasts an ensemble cast, including names like Zac Burgess, Sarah Catherine Hook, and Brooke Lena Johnson.
This steamy new series follows two step siblings who are ready to do whatever it takes to stay on the top of the social hierarchy at one of Washington, D.C’s elite colleges. However, with the surfacing of a hazing incident that puts every sorority and fraternity belonging to the university under probation, the step siblings must do everything that they can to protect their power.

Sarah Catherine Hook as Caroline Mereuil
Sarah Catherine Hook leads Cruel Intentions as Caroline Mereuil. She is the leader of Delta Phi Pi and uses her power and influence to manipulate people around her for her own benefits and keep her position intact at Manchester College.
Her character is also seen to manipulate her step brother into seducing the Vice President's daughter, so that she can end up in her sorority.
Hook’s previous projects include Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It where she played the role of Debbie Glatzel, First Kill where she played the role of Juliette Fairmont, The Ghost Trap where she played the role of Happy, and American Crime Story where she played the role of Catherine Davis.
Savannah Lee Smith as Annie Grover
Savannah Lee Smith plays the role of Annie Grover in Cruel Intentions. She is the daughter of the VP, who is shown to be finding her own place after she comes to Manchester College.
Since her political background is strong and her family is influential, she becomes the primary target of Caroline as the new recruit of Delta Phi Pi. As a part of her plan, Caroline sends Lucien, her brother, to seduce Annie so that she can further be manipulated into joining Caroline’s sorority.
However, Annie is also a recruit of Beatrice, who wants her to become a part of the protests that are happening against the sororities.
Smith’s notable roles include her portrayal of Monet De Haan in Gossip Girl. She has also appeared in Murder at the Murder Mystery Party.
Zac Burgess as Lucien Belmont
Lucien Belmont, played by Zac Burgess, is Caroline’s step brother. Caroline and Lucien have a strong bond, which has darker undertones as Lucien is physically attracted to her. To ensure that he gets what he wants, he aggress to seducing Annie, the VP’s daughter, so she would join Delta Phi Pi.
If he succeeds, he is promised an hour of private time with Caroline. Burgess broke out by playing Eli Bell in Boy Swallows Universe. He has also appeared in Totally Completely Fine and One Night.
Khobe Clark as Scott Russell
Khobe Clark portrays the role of Scott Russell. He is a victim of hazing and a member of Alpha Gamma, whose hazing incidents started the events that unfold in Cruel Intentions.
It is revealed that Scott’s father is a Congressman and him being involved in a hazing incident is not good for the optics. This incident leads all the fraternities and sororities of the university under probation.
This is why Caroline gets hell bent on making Annie join Delta Phi Pi because the sorority that has the VP’s daughter involved will not be banished from the university.
Clark has previously appeared in Yellowjackets, V.C. Andrews' Dawn, and Firefly Lane.
Sara Silva as CeCe Carroway
CeCe Carroway, who is Caroline’s assistant, is played by Sara Silva. She constantly seeks validation from Caroline and is also a very loyal member of the Delta Phi Pi. Despite fawning over Carolie, CeCe does have her own ambitions of making her place.
She also crushes over Professor Chadwick; however, she keeps that a secret. Silva has previously appeared in The Boys, Grown-ish, and American Horror Stories.
Brooke Lena Johnson as Beatrice Worth
Beatrice Worth, played by Brooke Lena Johnson, is a member of the college's New Political Society. She tries to make Annie understand that all sorority houses (with special emphasis on Delta Phi Pi) are bad.
Brooke has recently appeared in Strangers: Chapter 1 and has also featured in South of Hell, You, and The Crying Dead.
Sean Patrick Thomas as Professor Hank Chadwick
Sean Patrick Thomas starred in the Cruel Intentions film, but here in the show, he is coming back as a completely different character. He plays the role of Professor Hank Chadwick here, who teaches at Manchester College and is kind of a lone wolf.
However, things start getting complicated when Chadwick realizes that he is getting attracted to CeCe, a dangerous thing as it could completely ruin his career.
In the 1999 film of the same name, Chadwick played the role of Ronald Clifford. He also stars in Gen V.
Claire Forlani as Claudia Merteuil
Claudia Merteuil, played by Claire Forlani is the biological mother of Caroline and step mother of Lucien. The show reveals that Claudia used to be the president of Delta Phi Pi and so she is using Caroline to take the legacy of the sorority forward by including influential people to it so that her career works out well in the real world.
Forlani has to her credit projects like Five Feet Apart, Departure, Domina, and Hawaii Five-0.
John Harlan Kim as Blaise Powell
Blaise Powell, a member of the Alpha Gamma, is played by John Harlan Kim. His character is seen to be playing mind games with Scott, as the latter is led to believe that Powell likes him.
However, he is revealed to be using Scott as he wants to steal the fraternity’s funds so that he can become rich. Kim has previously starred in almost 20 episodes of 9-1-1. His other projects include White Fever, Purple Hearts, and Nancy Drew.
