Hulu's latest docuseries, Caroline Flack: Search for the Truth is an emotionally charged recollection of the final few months before the passing of the popular British TV presenter. She committed s**cide back in February 2020, just a few months after she had been accused of assault on her then partner, Lewis Burton. She underwent a long struggle with "fluctuating mental health" that was aggravated by the stress of fame, as found by a coroner.

Five years since the Love Island host's death, Flack's loved ones, especially her mother, have been trying to clear her name and free her of the allegations that tarnished her reputation.

Now, with the Hulu series, viewers are becoming increasingly aware of the details of the case.

Created by Disney and Curious Films, the show focuses more on the 'how' of the death of the 40-year-old British TV presenter, rather than the 'why'.

Caroline Flack: Search for the Truth explores how the British TV presenter died back in 2020

One of Britain's most successful TV presenters, Caroline Flack had been associated with many popular shows, such as Love Island, The X, and many more. She saw immense success not only in her professional life, but also seemed to be content in her personal life, as she was happily in a relationship with tennis player Lewis Burton.

However, this dream life came shattering down when the 40-year-old British presenter was accused of assault after details of an argument between her and her partner came out in public.

As seen on Caroline Flack: Search for the Truth, the police revealed that Flack had allegedly seen texts from another woman on Burton's phone, and when she went to confront him about the same, she reportedly ended up hitting her partner on the head with the phone, leading to a minor injury.

While Burton himself denied any accusations of assault and stated that Flack did not hit him, the CPS' decision not to charge Flack was appealed by a detective associated with Metropolitan Police, and she was charged with assault later that very month.

She was immediately dropped from the show, Love Island, and was forced to give up her job, one that she was extremely passionate about.

Losing her job, along with the assault accusations and subsequent media trial sent Caroline Flack into a depressive episode, and she ended up taking her own life in February 2020, in her apartment in Stoke Newington, London.

The TV presenter's death brought several important topics to light, with special focus on the importance of mental health, which was a topic that was not as widely spoken about back then as it is now. Moreover, it also brought to the forefront how media trials can also impact the mental health of those involved, highlighting how media should also be careful with the influence they have.

Five years after Flack's death, the Hulu series, Caroline Flack: Search for the Truth was created not just to showcase details of the case, but the main reason behind the show's creation was simply the fact that it was something Flack wanted. According to Christian Collerton and producer Sophie Clayton-Payne, Caroline Flack had reached out to Curious Films before her death, and expressed an interest in making a docuseries with the sole purpose of clearing her name.

Caroline Flack: Search for the Truth is available to stream on Hulu.
