CamilWay, an Italian artist, appeared on the season 2 episode of Rhythm + Flow Italy, which recently dropped on Netflix. The episode titled 'You Gotta Slay It, Bro,' saw him go against two other artists from the same region and win in his first try. Camil hails from Calabria, a region in Southern Italy.

During the Rhythm + Flow episode, we saw Geolier, the judge for this season, heading south to Locorotondo, a town in Puglia, Southern Italy.

He claims that his music resonates with the culture in the area and thus, it is an honor to be present and recruit artists from the region. He said,

"My music symbolizes the rebirth of the south of Italy as it finally takes the space it deserves. That's why I'm here in Puglia, the region that might best represent the life force that Southern Italy has at the moment."

He added,

"Because on these narrow streets, in these little towns far from the big cities, there's a life story that is untold, but it exists. It wants to create its own space... I'm looking for young rappers, those who are proud of their roots."

To assist him and provide an extra opinion, Geolier had called MadMan on Rhythm + Flow, a prominent figure in the Italian rap industry, to judge with him. Given the fact that he started on streets such as the one they are visiting, he would be an excellent judge of talent.

Soon, the three artists were introduced. They were CamilWay, 3Loads, and Amon. After analysing each of their performances, Geolier and MadMan, who had made a decision, said,

"It's been difficult. There was one thing that stood out to us. That was his realness, right? We both agree. Carrying the flag of the place you're from. That can give you a lot of strength, or it can be a burden. And so, Camil is coming to Milan. You were authentic. One thing that really set you apart was the dialect. It was really brave of you to rap in Calabrian."

When asked about his town and how it inspired his rap, CamilWay said,

"I try to represent it because we've always been pushed aside. And that makes me angry."

Later on Rhythm + Flow, in a montage of his background and story, we see him hanging out with his friends and family. He revealed how everyone had advised him not to rap in Calabrese and change his dialect.

However, he was adamant about it and did not listen to the noises. Camil says that he is from Crotone and thus has a heavy accent from his origins.

Then we see him at the dinner table with his extended family, talking about how he had promised his mother to buy her a house when he grew up. The scene shifts back to the rooftop, where he is asked about his arm by the judges.

Camil expressed that it has been this way for 2 years, due to nerve damage. Revealing further, he showed a huge scar on his neck and said that his face is half titanium. It does not look that way because the doctors did an excellent job of curing him.

Back to his confessional on Rhythm + Flow, Camil shares that he had almost lost his entire arm and is "lucky any of it's left." As for his rap, he claims to be doing it for his "homeland" and not for himself. He wishes to go down in Calabria's history.
