However, in doing so, she ends up endangering her own life and that of her family.

The Savant is based on a true story uncovered in a magazine article
While the story of The Savant might seem fictional, it is based on the true story of a woman who chooses to remain anonymous for safety purposes. This woman's story was uncovered back in 2019 in a Cosmopolitan magazine article by Andrea Stanley.
Stanley has been closely associated with the making of the show, and Chastain revealed how she had interacted with the original 'Savant', but made sure not to emulate anything about her in the series to maintain her anonymity. However, she did inculcate some subtle aspects of her characteristics into her routine while preparing for the show to really get into character.
For instance, she shared that she listened to the woman's favorite music while she was in hair and makeup for the role.
"Listening to the music she likes connects me to our conversation and to the stuff she told me about. It helps me to have the character live in the skin, I guess you could say."
Jessica Chastain is not only the lead actress but also the executive producer of the eight-part series. The Academy Award-winning actress is previously known for her role in several movies and shows like Interstellar, The Martian, Scenes from a Marriage, and George & Tammy, to name a few.
The first two episodes of The Savant will release on September 26 and will be available to stream on Apple TV+.
