American Idol Season 23 Finale: John Foster grabbed the runner-up position

For the American Idol Season 23, while Jamal Roberts won the competition, John Foster was the first runner-up, while Breanna Nix grabbed the third spot.

John Foster's finale performances included two solo performances. His first performance was Toby Keith's Courtesy of The Red, White and Blue (The Angry American). Carrie Underwood said that he was pulling all the stops. Brian Luke said John's voice has gotten better.

John's second performance was John Denver's Take Me Home, Country Roads.

Carrie Underwood appreciated John's song choice while Lionel Richie urged everyone to vote. John was also part of a group performance where he joined Breanna Nix and Jamal Roberts. They sang Queen's We Are the Champions during the finale ceremony.
