Resident Alien Season 4 has seen Harry Vanderspeigle more in his human form than his alien form.

Played by Alan Tudyk, the alien-turned-doctor Harry Vanderspeigle brings unexpected humanity to the show. While earlier seasons focused on Harry adjusting to human life, Resident Alien Season 4 has taken a different path.

Episode 5, titled The Human Condition, ends with a twist when Harry vanishes right in front of Asta Twelvetrees. This moment raises some big questions. Why did Harry disappear? What does it mean for the rest of the season? And could his father be behind it?

A twist brings up questions for Resident Alien Season 4

The sudden disappearance of Harry is a turning point for Resident Alien Season 4. The season has mostly followed his journey as he adjusts to being completely human. While that arc has had its entertaining moments, it hasn’t pushed the story forward in a big way until now.

In episode 5, Harry seems to accept his new human identity. Just as things start to feel stable for him, he vanishes into thin air, shocking both Asta and the viewers. This unexpected moment brings some excitement and raises questions that the last five episodes might answer.

Up until this point, Resident Alien Season 4 has felt a bit slower than previous seasons. Changes behind the scenes, like the move from Syfy to USA Network, led to a smaller budget and a different storytelling approach. Despite this, the show has still managed to deliver heartwarming and exciting moments. But now, with Harry disappearing, there is a bigger mystery to solve.

The disappearance is the biggest twist of the season, and there are two possible reasons behind it. One possibility is that Harry’s transformation into a human somehow caused him to disappear. Maybe fully accepting his human form had unexpected consequences that he had not been able to predict before. Harry’s body might have reacted to the loss of his alien identity in an unknown way. Perhaps the reason he disappeared is completely scientific, and after a solution is found, Harry will return.

The other reason could be Harry's father. Harry’s father will make his first appearance in Resident Alien Season 4. Stephen Root has been cast in the role, and his debut might be connected to Harry's disappearance. The fact that Harry disappeared right after a big episode about parenthood, where we learn about his alien children with Heather, feels like a clue.

We don’t know the full extent of what Harry’s alien species can do. But it’s not hard to imagine his father having the technology or power to transport Harry without prior warning. If his father is nearby, possibly in orbit, he may have pulled Harry away, and we will soon be told why.

This sets up the show to explore an exciting story arc for the remaining five episodes of Resident Alien Season 4. We’ll likely see more of Harry’s past, meet his father, and uncover the true reason behind his disappearance. The show has always mixed sci-fi twists with human storytelling, and this incident ties them both together.

What role will Harry’s father play? Is he here to help, or is something more dangerous? When and how will Harry return? Hopefully, the next episodes will address these questions and provide some much-needed answers.

New episodes of Resident Alien Season 4 will be released every Friday at 11 p.m. ET on SYFY and USA Network.
