Netflix’s Million Dollar Secret is the new reality show that fans of shows such as The Traitor and The Mole have been raving about.
The reality show introduced 12 players, one of whom has been awarded $1,000,000 prize money right at the start. The game is about one of the player hiding the fact that they have the money from other contestants, while each of the other players try to find out who among them is the millionaire. If the contestant is successful in hiding the prize money till the end, they win the money all alone.
Million Dollar Secret has aired six episodes till now, with many explosive moments where the contestants strategize on picking out who the millionaire is, while also winning fancy challenges. 10) Million Dollar Secret host Peter Serafinowicz nonchalantly enjoys dinner as contestants argue
British comedian Peter Serafinowicz is the host of Million Dollar Secret, and is loved by the fans of the show because of his comedic timing and antics. For instance, at the end of the premiere episode, when all the contestants begin to argue with each other, Peter is seen nonchalantly enjoying his dinner amid the chaos. Furthermore, his funny lines throughout the show make it entertaining.
9) Lauren completes her first task
Lauren became the first millionaire of Million Dollar Secret, although she could not hide the fact despite initially doing a great job as she completed her daily agendas.
Peter gave her the first agenda to hug all the contestants. Through talking and through being part of the planning and plotting of the contestants to nab the millionaire, Lauren successfully completed her challenge and got two extra votes to cast in the first elimination round.
8) Lydia figures out the first challenge
The first task is given to the contestants of Million Dollar Secret in which they are paired with their opponents. Of the pair, one would be the runner and would have to run through three locked gates while the other player, the codebreaker, would have to memorize a code to open a lock that would unleash a dog and attack the runner.
Lydia plans she would solve the eight-digit code by dividing it. She memorizes the first four symbols and applies it to the lock, and then memorises the last four symbols and successfully unleashes the dog on her opponent.
Later, most of the contestants follow her strategy to win the challenge.
7) Lauren reveals she was the millionaire
On being given the opportunity to let someone else be the millionaire, Lauren finally reveals to the other contestants that she was the millionaire earlier, but could not take the pressure of lying. She breaks down and tells them that she hated being the millionaire.
However, Jamie does not like the fact that Lauren was trying to be honest, and she says that the latter has ruined her dessert experience, making this episode one of the most dramatic.
6) The players' honest revelations of their votes draws strong suspicion toward Philip
Lauren is eliminated in Episode 3 of Million Dollar Secret, and Philip becomes the new millionaire.
However, suspicions around him being the millionaire increase at the end of the episode as all the contestants end up revealing who they voted for in the elimination process. While they all start to admit who they voted for, Philip stays silent and does not reveal his vote, which prompts the other contestants to narrow down the list of suspicious contestants solely to Philip.
5) The players find out that Philip is the millionaire
Episode 4 brings bad news for Philip as the contestants are able to guess that he is the millionaire, after the clue given in the reality show.
Philip is given his daily agenda of making three contestants scream with him, which he completes, bringing more suspicion on him. Later, after they complete the challenge, Peter reveals the clue that the millionaire had completed that day’s agenda, and it is the name of a popular horror film.
As the contestants begin naming horror films, it is Sam who remembers that she did 'scream' with Philip in the morning, making it clear that Philip is the millionaire. However, the contestants decide to keep it a secret for now.
4) Samantha becomes the new millionaire
Samantha, the police officer who has gone undercover since the first episode and suspected several contestants correctly, gets shocked on being made the next millionaire in the reality show.
One of the smartest players so far, Smantha covertly completes her agenda of the day during their task, earning the privilege of only her vote being counted during the elimination.
3) Peter sneaks out of Samantha’s balcony
The best moments of the show are when the host, Peter Serafinowicz, is on screen.
After Samantha is revealed to be the new millionaire and Peter informs her about her agenda, she asks Peter to sneak out of her balcony. Without failing, Peter sneaks playfully out of Samantha’s balcony just as he was told, creating a humorous moment.
2) Chris’s accident costs a point for his team in a challenge
Another humorous incident happens during one of the challenges in the reality show.
The contestants have to consume a dish, without knowing if it is delicious or not, and trick the other teams from guessing the correct answer. Most of the contestants successfully trick the other contestants, but when Chris goes to try it, he eats the blood sausage cake and has to pretend the dish is delicious.
He licks his fingers and eats the whole cake but also accidentally picks up the plate to lick it, which reveals to the other contestants that he was eating a bad cake. This causes Chris’s team to lose a point.
1) Peter tells Chris to let Sydney speak for herself
During the elimination round in the recent episode of Million Dollar Secret, the host, Peter Serafinowicz, asks Sydney about her relationship with Chris.
While they are talking, Chris interrupts, which annoys Peter. He tells Chris to let Sydney talk for herself as she can answer questions related to her. This silences the angry Chris, who is later eliminated in the episode.
