The Real Housewives of Potomac cast Karen Huger has been sentenced to jail after her driving under the influence arrest. Huger was involved in a car accident in March 2024, near her home in Maryland, where she crashed her Maserati into street signs and a median. Upon investigation, police found her uninjured. However, she was under the influence of alcohol.
Huger has reportedly been caught multiple times for drunk driving from 2006 to 2011, which made this her 4th alcohol-related traffic offense. Huger also joined a rehab program in 2025 to overcome her drinking problem.
On February 26, 2025, a Montgomery County, Maryland judge sentenced Huger to two years in prison for the DUI. However, one year was suspended, subject to violating the terms of her probation. She was also fined $2,900 and banned from driving for a year after her release.
Huger will be under supervised probation for five years and was also instructed to use an ignition interlock device in her car, which will prevent her from driving if she has been drinking.

Karen, 61, joined The Real Housewives of Potomac in 2016 as one of six cast members of the show. The other members included Gizelle Bryant, Ashley Darby, Robyn Dixon, Charrisse Jackson-Jordan, and Katie Rost.

The reality show depicted the lives of rich and successful women in Potomac, Maryland. The show soon became a hit, which added to Karen Huger's recognition in the industry.
After the success, Karen started her perfume line by the name La'Dame. On the fragrance's website, along with perfume, Karen soon began selling her own merch and her new wigs in collaboration with RPGSHOW. La'Dame also the inspiration behind Karen launching her own fragrance line by adding:
"As a true Lifestyle Enthusiast, Karen lives by the values taught by her parents from a young age: “If you live with purpose and work with dedication, all things are possible.” La’Dame’s mission is to make affordable, luxury lifestyle products for all to enjoy."
Karen was also spotted at many events like the Essence Festival of Culture X Girls United, where she motivated and empowered women. Bravo, the American TV network that airs The Real Housewives of Potomac (RHOP), highlighted her achievements:
"She’s an advocate and ambassador for Promoting Awareness Victim Empowerment (PAVE) and the Alzheimer’s Association. Karen also serves as vice president on the board of directors for Felicia’s Fund, is the ambassador of her hometown of Surry County and was sworn in as a county official."
Karen Huger is married to Raymond Huger and has two children named Rayvin and Brandon.
Karen has been given 90 days to challenge the verdict of the DUI case and 30 days to file an appeal. Bravo and the producer of RHOP have not commented on the issue yet.
