Internet users have taken a new dig at Sean Combs, aka Diddy, by using the Call of Diddy memes. The term Call of Diddy is a parody of a popular video game, Call of Duty, which the internet is using to joke about Diddy’s legal issues and alleged crimes, like sex trafficking.
The internet users are sharing Call of Duty clips with action scenes or edited photos of Diddy with sarcastic captions. Some users also showed Diddy holding the baby oil, which police originally found at Diddy's home at the time of the raid. The Call of Diddy trend is using game moments to talk about Diddy’s real-life troubles.
How did the Call of Diddy meme start?
While the Call of Diddy took a while to come to light, the meme culture first started with Nice Try, Diddy, which users spammed under random Instagram ads in 2024. According to the fans, this was just a poke at Diddy’s many business ventures, suggesting he was trying to sneak into everything.
The phrase also popped up in comments under Call of Duty trailers. After the rapper’s arrest in September 2024, the meme shifted from light teasing to more pointed jokes, as users connected it more directly to the serious headlines surrounding him.
As of April 2025, Call of Diddy has become a popular meme trend among internet users who have shared multiple takes on the rapper's legal woes.
A user, @DrClownPhD, shared an image of Diddy with a baby oil gun, with the caption "Call of Diddy" on X.
Another X user, @Callofdiddy6, compared ammunition to baby oil, which was recovered from Diddy's house during the raid, in the post,
"Do you have your ammunition ready $COD army ?🧴🧴🧴"
Users are also uploading Call of Duty clips of shooting and wild parties, calling it Call of Diddy to mock Diddy’s arrest for alleged sex trafficking.
While many internet users are treating the Call of Diddy trend as just dark humor, others believe making jokes on serious issues like sex trafficking isn’t okay, even if it's meant as humor. According to them, turning real-life allegations into memes can take attention away from the seriousness of the situation.
As of now, both Nice Try, Diddy and Call of Diddy continue to trend on X and TikTok. Sean Combs is currently at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn awaiting his trial, which is scheduled to be held on May 5.
