Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ ex-assistant, George Kaplan, has come forward to testify in his sex trafficking trial and has demanded immunity from the court.
On May 21, 2025, Judge Arun Subramanian granted him immunity to compel his testimony, as he initially intended to invoke his Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination, according to a report in CNN.

Kaplan is Combs' former assistant who took the stand on May 21, 2025, to testify against Combs at Manhattan Federal Court. His testimony followed that of psychologist Dr. Dawn Hughes, who testified in court about the alleged abusive relationship between Diddy and his ex-girlfriend, Cassie Ventura.
According to a report in the Daily Mail, Kaplan worked as Diddy’s assistant for 15 months, from 2013 to 2015. He told the court that he reported to Diddy's chief of staff at Combs Enterprises, Kristina Khorram. He said that he was paid $125,000 for working between 80 and 100 hours a week.
Here are more details.
All you need to know about George Kaplan
Diddy’s former assistant, George Kaplan, was initially hired for basic errands. He is referred to as Diddy’s ‘bag-man’ who “carried his bags, also made sure his homes were organized and had his belongings where he needed them,” as per a report in the Daily Mail.
A report in CNN stated that Kaplan communicated with Diddy daily. They reportedly exchanged texts, calls, and emails multiple times a day about things he needed, which could include “clothing or potentially food from somewhere, or drugs or liquor or an iPad or a speaker.”

He testified that Diddy would threaten his job "monthly." He added that the threats sounded "sometimes angry, sometimes motivational."
According to a report in ABC News, Kaplan went on to tell the jurors how he was later assigned more sensitive and secretive tasks as Diddy’s trust in him grew. He said that he was responsible for setting up hotel rooms for the rapper, where Combs participated in what the prosecutors alleged were drug-fueled sex parties.
The report further added that Kaplan recalled stocking up Combs’ hotel rooms with various items such as candles, liquor, baby oil, and personal lubricant. These were the items which he carried with him in a bag when he traveled with Combs to various destinations such as New York, Miami, Atlanta, Washington, DC and Orlando.

He added that he would either fly on Combs’ private jet with him or fly in advance on a commercial flight to set up his hotel room.
Kaplan reportedly also shouldered the responsibility for cleaning up the hotel rooms, which included discarding bottles of liquor and baby oil. He said that he understood that his responsibility was to clean Diddy’s image, as he would have guests and a female partner join him in hotel rooms.
The report in CNN stated that Kaplan said that after Diddy left a room after he was done with his “freak-offs,” his room would be covered with sports drink bottles, liquor bottles and baby oil. He said on one occasion he cleaned up a “brown crystallized powder” off a countertop.
Kaplan further testified that he picked up drugs for Diddy, once in Miami and once in Los Angeles. He then added that once he picked up MDMA, and the other time, he didn’t know what the substance was, as he told the court.
George Kaplan is expected to continue his testimony on May 22, 2025.
