Dylan Dilinjah is a Caribbean hip-hop artist who rose to fame after being selected to be a part of "Da Band" on P. Diddy's show, Making The Band (MTB). Dilinjan is also an executive producer and philanthropist. His journey with music began at a very early age. He started writing music at 10 and auditioned for Diddy's show at 16.

While Dilinjah was a part of "Da Band," he was introduced to the viewers as a rebel and a Caribbean hip-hop artist. When the group broke off, Dilinjah continued to tour the Caribbean and worked in the studio continuously. Later, he decided to create a new persona and name for himself, Dylan Dili.

Recently, the Caribbean rapper made news headlines, but not for his music. Dylan Dili was arrested on April 4, 2025, for slapping a man identified as Paul Joseph Galullo.

More details about why Making The Band's Dylan Dilinjah was arrested

According to a report obtained by TMZ, the incident happened in Wake County, North Carolina, on April 3, 2025. The Apex Police Department arrested him for assaulting a man by the name of Paul Joseph Galullo. According to the police reports, the slap was intentional, and Dilinjah slapped Galullo twice "with an open hand."

Police were called to the location, and the Caribbean hip-hop artist was charged with simple assault, a misdemeanor. Additionally, Dilinjah did not stay in prison for too long because he posted a $500 bail and left on the same day. However, this is not the end of this case. A court hearing is scheduled for July 1 if there is no obstruction to the situation.

What is Dylan Dilinjah known for?

Dilinjah's rise to fame can be owed to the second iteration of P. Diddy's Making The Band. On the show, Dylan was often seen butting heads with Diddy himself, as well as other renowned artists, including Wyclef Jean. Now, Dylan is often made fun of in the pop culture world for his attitude on the reality television series.

He was also the brunt of the joke on Chappelle's Show by Dave Chappelle. To many, this may have been a funny skit to watch, but according to Dilinjah, it greatly affected his career.

Dylan Dilinjah's arrest for allegedly slapping Paul Joseph Gulallo has put the Caribbean artist back in the spotlight. While he was once known as a "rebel" on Making The Band, he now faces a misdemeanor assault charge.
