Porsha Williams' ex-husband, Simon Guobadia, has been detained by ICE.

People Magazine has reported that according to U.S. Department of Homeland Security records, Guobadia, who is from Nigeria, is being held at the Stewart Detention Center in Lumpkin, Georgia.

According to US Weekly, his status says “in ICE custody,” which means he is being held by Immigration and Customs Enforcement. The move comes amid President Trump's mass deportation scheme, which was signed into effect just this January after he took to the Oval Office. Under this initiative, scores of illegal immigrants could be deported back to their native countries.

Everything we know about Porsha Williams' ex-husband's residency in the US:

In the wake of the announcement, Porsha Williams took to Instagram to issue a statement:

"It's disheartening to see my estranged husband make choices that have led to this outcome. At this moment my priority is moving forward with my family. 🙏🏾," The Real Housewives of Atlanta star penned.

The businessman reportedly came to the US in 1982, and according to Us Weekly, he allegedly outstayed his visa. By 1985, he was declared deportable, prompting him to go back to his homeland. By 1986, he returned on a work visa, though he overstayed once again.

Per the outlet, he was arrested in 1987, prompting him to plead guilty to bank and credit card fraud. In the years since then, he was arrested twice more and deported back to his hometown in 1992.

In 2016, the reality TV star applied for citizenship, though his request was denied by the US government because his previous status had been “unlawfully granted.”By February 2024, Guobadia came into the spotlight once again as news broke out that he was repeatedly denied PR in the U.S.

That same month, Porsha Williams and her now-estranged husband filed for divorce after 15 months of marriage. The two tied the knot in November 2022. Since then, they have been embroiled in an ongoing legal battle, though this September, Williams was granted a victory regarding the terms of their prenuptial agreement.

Us Weekly reported this past November that Williams was awarded “temporary, sole and exclusive possession, use and occupancy” of her and her former husband's shared residence in Georgia, allowing her to continue filming The Real Housewives of Atlanta.

Furthermore, per the outlet, Williams was given an “unrestricted right to film and produce television, film or social media” content on the property. Guobadia was also ordered to “execute any documents necessary to facilitate.”

At the time of writing, Porsha Williams and Guobadia's divorce proceedings are still ongoing.
