Singer Joss Stone is opening up about her perilous relationship struggles.
The 38-year-old was reportedly answering a question from a fan in an Instagram video shared on Saturday, August 16. A listener asked her on her “A Cuppa Love” podcast about being “ready to leave” a relationship and asked for some "help."
Per Us Weekly, Joss Stone said that the question made her “take a breath” when she glanced at it, as she couldn't wait until the next episode to answer it.
In a string of follow-up videos shared on Sunday, August 17, the "Super Duper Love" artist said that “having a plan” for how to leave “is a really good idea.”
“I had tried to leave him, I can’t tell you how many times,” Stone said of her previous romance. “Each time it felt like it was getting more and more dangerous. One day, he threw me out — surprising how strong he was, he wasn’t that tall.”

In her answer, Joss Stone recalled a harrowing instance she once endured. She didn't disclose her partner's name, though she said he “threw me out in the rain” when she had nothing on except for a T-shirt.
“He thought that he’d locked the gate and that I was stuck in the driveway, and I didn’t know the code to get out. He just thought he’d sort of trapped me in the rain,” she recalled. “I did know the code.”
When she opened the gate, she recalled feeling like “there’s no way he can hurt me” and made a run for it.
“My feet were killing me, getting ripped up by the bloody concrete,” she continued. “I’m running and I’m thinking, ‘I’m going to get to the end of this road,’ and I don’t have anything.”
She “kept running” but didn't have her phone on her. Eventually, she realized that her abusive ex-partner was chasing her down:
“It was so annoying,” she added. “Anyway, he did catch me and did tell me that the police were going to come and arrest me and all that stuff. It was all a load of bulls***.” She said he dragged her back home, but she eventually left him. “I was able to leave him because I am a touring musician. So, I used to go on the road to do my job,” she explained. “I just decided to never go back. That was actually easy. I don’t need to be noble and kind and try to break up with him face-to-face. I tried to do that many, many times and it was extremely dangerous.”
She then emphasized that her need for telling the story was to show other women they are not alone before pointing out that "1 in 3 women are abused by their partners at some point." She called on her fellow survivors to stay strong.
Joss Stone captioned one of her videos:
"From my experience of brake ups I can say it is the hardest most painful thing to do , especially when you have loved someone so much at one point . Some how you feel it’s your responsibility to look after that persons heart more than your own."
As reported by The Daily Mail, back in 2011, Joss Stone was kidnapped and nearly murdered at her home in Devon, which prompted her to shift to Nashville. Two men, Kevin Liverpool and Junior Bradshaw, were later found guilty of plotting to decapitate the singer in 2013. They reportedly branded her a ‘she-devil’ and wanted to murder her due to her connections to the Royal Family.
'What happened to me in 2011 has made me lock my doors and have an alarm system, whereas I didn’t before,' Joss Stone previously told The Times.
People Magazine has reported that Joss Stone is married to Cody DaLuz, with whom she shares daughter Violet, 4, and son Shackleton, 2. They also adopted a son named Bear last year, and in June, they welcomed another daughter, Nalima Rose.
