Popular content creator Sidney Raz recently shared a major health update with his followers. The Life Hacks, Tips, and Tricks author revealed at the end of March that he was diagnosed with stomach cancer months after losing his unborn daughter. Sid also shared that his deceased child was also the reason doctors were able to detect his condition at an early stage.
Last year in September, Sidney Raz announced that he and his wife, Kelsey Nolan, lost their unborn child at 26 weeks. Recently, the content creator known for his life hack videos opened up about the tragic death of their daughter, revealing that she had a condition named “holoprosencephaly” and “she wasn’t growing a brain.” Sidney Raz added:
“We got some genetic testing done and it was found that she had a deletion called CTNNA1, I think. So we did genetic testing on me and Kelsey didn’t have that deletion, but I did have that deletion.”
Raz explained that the deletion was linked to “certain types of cancer, specifically stomach cancer.” He continued:
“I scheduled an endoscopy, and last week I went in for the endoscopy, and today I found out that I have stomach cancer… And by today, I mean, like, I found out three hours ago.”
Sidney said that he shared the health update on the internet because of his love for the community and the support he has received online. The content creator also shared that it was the “best case scenario” that might have occurred because he was diagnosed quite early. He expressed his disappointment about the possibility of losing his stomach:
“I would give more than one of my stomachs away to stay here.”
He concluded the video by talking about his scheduled appointment with a specialist regarding the surgery.
Sidney Raz recently displayed his desire to do the Hot Ones challenge with Sean Evans to raise money for cancer

On April 1, Sid shared that he would be undergoing surgery to remove his stomach. The content creator and author revealed that the doctors had scheduled the operation on April 18 for the “total” removal of his stomach.
According to Sidney, the doctor suggested that “taking out” his stomach “is the best course of action.” He also proclaimed that the condition might have worsened in the coming years had they not caught the cancer so early.
A few days later, Sidney Raz addressed Sean Evans, known for hosting Hot Ones, in a video. Talking about how he won’t be able to eat any spicy food after his stomach is removed, Sid asked his viewers to make his video reach Evans so they can arrange a Hot Ones challenge to raise money for cancer. Raz said:
“Sean Evans, I would like, if available for a livestream on Instagram or something, to do the Hot Ones challenge before my stomach goes away. And raise some money for cancer. Sean, I’m sure you get a lot of these hair brain ideas, but this one seems very specific to the Hot Ones challenge. So, let me know, Sean.”
In a recent video, Sidney Raz also explained how things will work after doctors take out his stomach. The content creator took a rather humorous and positive spin on his condition and explained, using props, how his intestine will be attached to his esophagus:
“My tum-tum is bad, so we’re gonna say bye-bye to my tum-tum. [...] No more tum-tum. So now my intestine is gonna be attached to my esophagus and I’m gonna be, what’s known in the business as a Tubi… Tube.”
He also explained how he will have to make adjustments:
“I just have to chew a lot more and retrain my body [on] how to eat. So, I can’t eat as much. It’s gonna be a big adjustment, but I don’t want to get cancer so…”
In another clip, the content creator highlighted that he never got any symptoms for his condition. Sid encouraged his curious viewers to consult a genetic specialist or counselor to do a “full panel of CDH1 and then look for CTNNA,” explaining that these are “the two that lead to this type of diffuse gastric cancer.”
