The feud between Meghan McCain and The White Lotus star Carrie Coon has intensified after the latter made comments about the conservative character on the HBO show.

During a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Coon reflected on the viral scene where Leslie Bibb's Kate comes out as a Trump supporter during dinner.

“I do think people like Meghan McCain and her community are really gratified to see a conservative person on television,” Coon said. “I have conservative people in my life who reached out to me to say that was an awesome conversation, because I don’t think it vilifies Kate.”

However, McCain took to X to slam the actress and her character on The White Lotus.

“Yes Carrie, I am ‘gratified that the conservative character represented one not making a fool of herself," she said. McCain added, “Unlike the progressive liberal you’re representing who is sleeping with hotel staff and showing her tits to everyone.”

McCain was referencing a scene in the show where Laurie gets inebriated while partying with a hotel staffer and two of his friends, and then he flashes everyone later on when they're back at their resort.

Coon retorted, satirically noting that she didn't know

"My quote was so inflammatory. Is ‘gratified’ a new trigger word?” McCain, for her part, noted that if she were "on a hit tv show on HBO the last thing I would be doing is spending my time fighting with conservatives for weeks.”

Everything we know about Meghan McCain and Carrie Coon's beef:

On March 4, Meghan McCain took to X to laud President Donald Trump's address to Congress, where he voiced his support for cancer treatment.

"This is the first time I can remember crying during a State of the Union. Thank you, President Trump. This is so beautiful. Anyone who has been impacted by brain cancer knows how special this is," McCain wrote at the time.

Coon reposted the tweet and added, “Who’s gonna tell her.”

McCain retorted by questioning if she should continue watching Carrie Coon's show and coupled the tweet with an image of Bibb's Kate smiling moments after she was asked if she voted for Trump:

“Can’t decide if I should still watch White Lotus tonight since one of the stars decided to tweet some nasty crap at me this week for liking Trumps address to the nation,” she tweeted.

At the time of writing, Coon has yet to respond to McCain's comments on X.
