President Donald Trump has announced another deadline extension for TikTok's Chinese parent company, ByteDance, to sell the platform's U.S. operations.

The latest 75-day reprieve means the relatively popular video-sharing app will remain operational in the United States until mid-June. Reports suggest that the app is used by around 170 million Americans.

This is the second time Donald Trump has delayed the enforcement of a bipartisan law signed last year by former President Joe Biden. The law mandates that ByteDance divest its ownership of TikTok or face a nationwide ban. The law was passed amid concerns that Chinese authorities could potentially access the platform's vast user data, BBC reports. However, Beijing denies such claims.

Drama Alert took to its official X (formerly Twitter) page to share:

"TIKTOK BAN NARROWLY AVOIDED... TRUMP GRANTED ANOTHER 75 DAY EXTENSION."

Netizens were notably quick to weigh in on the comment section of the X post to share their thoughts on this deadline extension. Below are some of the remarks on the matter:

"Not a favorable situation, app concerns exist", stated an X user.
"TikTok seems too big to ban", added another.
"He aura farming with TikTok bans", joked a third.
"Another 75 days of cringe dances and crypto shills on TikTok? This cat's got mixed feelings fr. At least it gives me more time to grow my following there. Stay tuned for my catnip review series", opined a fourth.

Others also chimed in:

"Looks like the app's still here, time to get my dance on", remarked a netizen.
"It extended though June 18th now until a deal reach, it used to be http://music.ly before merger of Tiktok of Bytedance", shared another.

NME reports that in a post on Truth Social, Donald Trump said:

"My Administration has been working very hard on a Deal to SAVE TIKTOK, and we have made tremendous progress. The Deal requires more work to ensure all necessary approvals are signed, which is why I am signing an Executive Order to keep TikTok up and running for an additional 75 days."

Trump's latest decision regarding TikTok comes just days before the existing April 5, 2025, deadline.
