Author Frank Turek rememberedCharlie Kirk during Megyn Kelly's live show in Glendale on November 22. Kelly shared the TPUSA founder's mentor's speech on her channel on Tuesday. Turek was present with Charlie Kirk when he was shot at UVU on September 10. Addressing the audience, Kirk's mentor said,

"Where were you on September 10th when you heard Charlie had been shot? You're never going to forget that. I was 20 feet from him off his right elbow. I was FaceTiming my son and daughter-in-law because they were Charlie fans, as was I."

Frank Turek said that it could be difficult to mentor someone smarter than oneself, but that had never been the case with Charlie Kirk. He said, "The only thing that exceeded his intellect was his humility." Turek went on to share the moments when TPUSA members rushed Kirk to the hospital after the shooting.

He recalled that the conservative activist was "with Jesus already."

"And we got him in the car. His eyes were fixed. He wasn't looking at me. He was looking right past me into eternity. He was with Jesus already, absent from the body, present with the Lord," Frank Turek said.

The author shared that he went to Phoenix this summer to work with Charlie Kirk. He remembered how they would spend their days in sessions and sometimes go on long walks at night. Turek shared that two nights before Kirk was shot, he asked him for a walk. TPUSA founder's mentor shared that he wanted to discuss "two major issues" with him.

"The two major issues Charlie wanted to talk about that night were how can I get the young culture to accept marriage and the family? And he also wanted to get everybody to understand the resurrection really occurred and Christianity is true... So he was struggling. How could he get this generation to see the beauty of marriage and childbearing and having children? He wanted this generation to experience what he experienced," Turek said.

He added that Kirk was looking for a "female voice" to address women in his generation. Turek said that Kirk's tragic death "ironically" gave rise to such a voice. He said, "Her name is Erika Kirk."

Erika Kirk also joined Megyn Kelly on her tour and opened up about many things following her husband's death. The new CEO of Turning Point USA reflected upon her marriage to Charlie Kirk.
